Huh. I thought “minicamp” meant there were a number of people participating…and I didn’t realize they held the immediately after the draft…shows how much I pay attention.
You're correct, there were a number of people participating. Here's an article about the Chiefs mini camp, which finished up just yesterday.

Rookie minicamp is a tryout situation for invitees not with a contract agreement. Kansas City had 11 defensive lineman in attendance, and I am not sure how many were unsigned invites or if they offered any a contract. I will add that the odds of sticking in this situation isn't great, they have basically 2 days to stick out from the numbers.

Your odds are greatly understated. I’d say it’s got to be less than one in a hundred, maybe a couple hundred of guys who are just offered minicamp invites. I can’t find an exact number but it’s nearly impossible.

Yeah. I knew the odds were slim, I just wasn’t aware they held them within days of the draft…
They got a good one, if true. I hope he makes the squad and shows them what he can do.
Interesting. His very first minicamp (not sure how many he did after). SO glad that's where he signed, being a Chiefs fan. They did get a good one, Elrod.

All jokes aside, it looks like he got a second look at an exclusive camp which is huge. He put in a ton of work in his time here, and especially leading up to his pro day and the draft and then these camps. Happy for him and hope he makes the final roster. I keep thinking back to those videos shared before the championship of players listening to messages from their parents and just watching his reaction to his dad’s video still encapsulates so much of what all of griz nation thinks of Mr. Gubner, but that was special.
