I know the Grizzly team camp for high schools just got over. Anyone hear how it went? Did we offer anyone and did we get any verbals. Who won which awards? Payton? Wahlberg? Come on people I want some football information.

Heard we offered Trevan Timmer...younger brother of retired Ty Timmer

Cool. Evidently offered the quarterback and he accepted from Boise. What are the chances of landing Timmer?

50/50 is my guess - just like his older brothers he's got family support to go to the team of his choosing, I would assume both are after him.

He's a senior this year so we probably won't hear until later this fall I'd guess.

The Timmers were at the Great Falls Griz BBQ. It would seem that they have adopted the Griz as their own as well. Good family and I hope we get Ty.

According to Tomcat, Trevan Timmer has committed to MSU.

I saw that. Good for him. He is going to be a good one. Could be the best out of all of them. He has had some injury stuff in the past, but pretty minor I think. Watched the Bison and CMR scrimmage this weekend. He may be one of the only bright spots on the Bison team. They may be worse than last year, especially when compared to CMR.

Made his decision on life rather than just football so good for him. Too bad he won't be a Griz but I can completely understand making that decision. I was a Griz fan a long time before I had to go to MSU for a degree in Agriculture. Still get a lot of isht about how I could do that as a Griz fan but my answer is usually if you go somewhere strictly because of the football team especially if they don't offer the field you are interested in, you are scoring below 80 on an iq test.

Excellent point. I have a family friend who transfered to UM from MSU due to her changing her major. She likes Missoula, has plenty of friends, but is a cat fan. Right now my daughter in high school wants to be a pharmacist, but I told her if she wants to be an engineer, she would likely be going to Bozeman. I think as parents you need to educate your kids the difference between being a fan and being a student. Sounds like the Timmers have done a great job with their kids. We should all be so lucky.

My daughter is a dyed-in-the-wool Griz fan, but she never would have gone to school at UM. She grew up in Missoula and wanted to experience somewhere different for college, and she did so, with our total support.

The Timmer family is a great family - I wish him the best. I probably wont be cheering for him on Griz/cat week but otherwise I hope he does the best!

Completely agree! :thumb:

Good for Timmer.

And I agree 100% with the comments about choosing where you go to school based on the programs rather than athletics. My sophomore year, my girlfriend transfered to MSU for nursing. I supported that decision completely. Of course, our relationship ended immediately, but that was to be anticipated as there is no way I could have been expected to date a cat. 8-)
