Grizzly Sports Report

Hey Griz Fans,

I know there was some confusion last week over where the television coaches show is airing, and at what times.

This week, we are airing today (Monday) in Missoula/Kallispell/Butte/Bozeman back-to-back 9-9:30, and 9:30-10 on FOX

In Great Falls/Helena it will be airing at 9:30-10 on FOX, and in Billings, it will air on KULR-8 (NBC)...but unfortunately I can't tell you the time.

In this weeks episode, we talk to several App State fans about their respect for Montana as a state, and the program here. We also Mic up RB coach Justin Green, and interview coach Delaney and Alex Bienemann.

It was suggested last week that a fan question portion would be appreciated, so please, if you have a question for coach Delaney, or a particular player you would like to see on the show, email it to us at [email protected], or directly to me at [email protected]

This show is stronger than the first one, and I hope you all like it!

Still no mention on kulr 8 Billings.
I sent an e-mail to kulr8 sports director Chris Beyers asking about the show last week. I did not receive a reply.
I sure miss it in Billings.
Help!

So is it your, or your company's, idea that everyone should remember to switch away from Monday Night Football to watch your show?

The Fox Network has very few openings for any local programming before midnight, and Monday night after the 9PM news was what the company felt was the best option.

Did Coach Delaney just not want a show with his name in the title or was that a company decision?

The reason it is not the "Mick Delaney" show is three-fold. Number one, we wanted to make it clear it was different from past Griz coaches shows. Not to mention, we are covering much more than coach Delaney and myself talking back and forth, and felt it was a better title for the content of the show. Lastly, our company also does the Bobcat Sports Report, and it was easy to have similar names for branding purposes.

I'll figure that out tomorrow, sorry for the inconvenience! I know it should be airing in Billings, just not sure when.

Dominic - wanted to give you props for the last two shows. I certainly enjoyed both. Loved the set up in front of the NC display this week. Also appreciate the updates on soccer, VB and golf.

Monday Night Football is not a problem for me - would rather watch Griz show over NFL for a half an hour.

Keep up the good work.

Could use a lot more highlights, I don't even think it showed Dan Moore's 83 yard TD. Was that because this was an ESPN broadcasted show? I noticed the highlights were not from the broadcast at all.

I really liked the older show when you saw a whole bunch of plays and the coach was talking over the clip, you'd hear the "coach talk" where he'd talk about how they designed the play based on the scouting or the call that the OC sent in or whatever.

I believe later in the show they showed the beginning of Moore's epic 83 yard reception, but It was a travesty not showing Dan Moore plunge into the endzone (they cut away to something else before the play ended)!!!

They should have showed a couple more of the better McKinney highlights too, like the one the announcer said, "Looking Michael Vick-ish" referring to McKinney's 4th qtr 4th down scramble and 1st down completion to Saylor.

I thought the show was ok, but definitly blew it on some of the highlights...that needs better attention.

The Dan Moore play was shown when coach talked about Dan Moore, however the whole play (him getting into the endzone wasn't shown...because while traveling, we were only allowed one camera, thus making it more difficult to get every angle of every play (also meaning, once he cut to the left-hand side of the field, the Griz bench blocked our one camera from shooting him crossing the plane. The first show we had multiple angles because the our company broadcasted the game. Unfortunately ESPN wasn't interested in giving us a copy of their game, which makes getting all the angles quite difficult.

In regard to the 'coach speak' I'll broach it with Delaney, however he plays it much closer to the vest than previous coaches as far as game-plan discussion,etc...when asked if there was a particular matchup in a game that would benefit the Griz, he didn't comment, said he'd keep it to himself, and chuckled. Again, appreciate all the criticisms, and if we can talk Delaney into going in depth on a play, I like the idea and we'll try to make it happen.

Is the Grizzly Sports Report available in the internet? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately it is not available on the internet. I've emailed several times to Learfield Sports, without a reply. Learfield is the rights holder to the show, and are the only ones who can put it online if they want it to be. I suggest emailing them requesting it be made available online.

Hope that helps answer any questions. There is a lot of moving parts, with very few resources to do things 100% the way we'd like, but if you have any other suggestions or questions, I'd be happy to field them!

Dominic,

Can you confirm for me that Satan is the CEO of Learfield Sports?

As someone who has tried to deal with Learfield before, and watched them even ignore O'Day's emails, I can tell you that Satan is much less evil than the CEO of Learfield Sports.

Within the next 3 years Learfield will own the rights to Hell, and start charging admission to it. Even saying "Hell" in any way, for example: "Go to hell Learfield", "what the hell Learfield?!", or the ever popular "*#@$& ($%*$# #@$*%$ HELL &#$@&# LEARFIELD!!?" will result in lawyer minions from the 4th circle of Learfield Headquarters being launched at you.

That said, hopefully they will allow it to be put online eventually. I'd love to see the one after the App state game. Not surprised they have been ignoring emails about that :(
