grizzly hall of fame

i dunno, but i think we've got this hall of fame thing ass backwards. guy plays great, we wait five years, stick him in the hall, he comes back many years later all grey, bald, funny clothes, beat up, hobbled, drooling, and we bring him out to mid-court for a polite ovation by thousands of kids who have no idea what this guy did or what he meant to the school, cause he's like, OVER THIRTY, OVER FIFTY, MYGAWD...OVER 60!...and who gives a rat's fukc anyway.

i say, mandy, YOU'RE IN THE HALL, GAL, then i put that in the press guide and in all our promo material, and here's a hall of famer that the current kids can RELATE to cause they see her on campus and in the classroom every day, and now we have something unique, the first hall of famer in the history of the country to be playing before you RIGHT NOW, and if she winds up falling short of hall of fame stats, we simply say, we caught her gambling down at stock's or think maybe she was using the same trainer as barry bonds, and we issue a DEMIT. i mean, this hall of fame stuff is pretty subjective anyway, isn't it? i could create a whole other hall of fame in any sport to include guys who wuz robbed, so why don't we just take subjectivity to a whole other level and cash in right now, eh?

City,

are you back on the "medicinal" marijuana? :werd:

I couldn't agree with you more on this comment. Strait is going to be a Junior, and Hasquet a sophomore. Both of those guys have a looooong way to go before they can even be considered.

On the other hand, now is the time to assess what Criswell's legacy at UM really is. Three different coaches, and still two NCAA appearances. Fourth all time scorer in Grizzly history, and most career three pointers. He managed to have the personal numbers AND the TEAM success. That is a tough combination.

If we are going to preach the team over the premadonna, the accomplishments of the team while the player was there must stand for something. While Krystoviak deserves some of the credit for restoring dignity to UM basketball, I believe Criswell's fingerprints are also all over that accomplishment.

He is not a sure thing, but he is the only name right now that even has a shot. You have to wait on anyone else.

Just something to add.

I beleive there is a UM Basketball hall of fame and a Athletic Hall of fame. I think that the basketball hall of fame is where Straight and the others might be added.
