Grizzlies Most Successful DI Program This Century

In reading the Sports Network's coverage of the upcoming Appalachian State vs Montana game, it touted the two programs as being the most successful in the FBS, saying ASU had the lead with one more win than the Griz since 2005. However, a lil checking verified the Grizzlies are actually the most successful football program in Division I this century. The Top 5 DI programs since 2000 are: Montana 138, Boise State 136, Oklahoma 133, Texas 124, Ohio State 121 & USC 121 (tied for 5th). Appalachian State is the second most successful FBS team with 119 wins. Those numbers include the 2000-2011 seasons and the first week of the 2012 season - Go Griz!!

The numbers are different as listed in this week's football game release on gogriz.com:

(see the upper right blurb on page 3)

Most Wins In Division I from 2000-2012
Team Wins
Boise State 134
Oklahoma 131
Montana 128
Texas 123
Southern Cal 120
Appalachian St. 119

I bet they don't count playoff games, because I remember doing this last year and the Griz were definitely first. FBS schedules are usually a game longer as well.

FACTS????

Reminds me of the Democrats and Republicans talking about facts while the all BS and outright lies are spewed at us, yet we sit on our butts and let it all go and think nothing of it. We expect it! On second thought it reminds me of our griz board as the truth gets murdered quite often.

U of M was not always very good. In my day we were quite bad in football. Our grandstanding to perform ostentatiously while impressing the world audience is a bit more than I can bear at times!

Meanwhile, has the "game" started?

I nominate Kilo for the Jimmy Olson Cub Reperter Award. That's some damn fine investigative reporting.
