An excellent combo Montana WBB coverage & profile story from Bill Speltz (406 MT Sports) as the LG host Sac State and Northern Colorado, two other Big Sky teams with first-year coaches. Both have losing records, but the Hornets put a scare into Cal Irvine Sunday. Irvine has been getting votes in early College Insider polling: https://collegeinsider.com/womens-mid-major-top-25 It's the Big Sky: I expect both teams to provide tough tests for Montana.
Though the GrizWBB are 5-1 & playing at a decidedly uptempo pace, they've got a long way to go, something both senior Sopia Stiles and coach Brian Holsinger have repeated early this year. I like the direction they're headed.
