GRIZ WIN!!!

Chavez sounds scary skillful. There was a :30 peroid where single handedly turned the momentum around with hard work on both ends.

23-26 at the line, that's nice to see.....

I noticed Weber beat Boise State (66-61) tonight, and are now 2-0. Hope the Griz just had a real bad second half at Boise.

Hell yes!

For some reason (especially after the 2nd half against Boise St) I thought we'd be hard pressed to beat LM. Nice work guys!

Yeah this is big win for us. I think we are going to win 25 games this year and i believe we have a chance to run the BSC. ITs still goign to be tough with MSU.....

Why are people so excited about this win?

Was LMU supposed to be a really good team?

I'm not going crazy yet. I think this team is talented and has the potential to win 20 games, but we'll see what happens. Lots of young players and lots of improving to do.

MSU??? They dropped a game to Alaska Fairbanks! They are in the same division as St. Martins!

Have been hearing that there aren't enough basketballs to go around in Bozeman. Lots of animosity going on right now. They still have enough talent to win any game on any night though. But they are going to have to change some things if they plan on stringing some wins together.

I remember a few years ago UM got worked by Alaska at the same tournament for their third loss in a row and then upset 17th ranked Stanford in their next game!

Too early to tell, I think...

Dramatic Change in Free Throws..What Did We Miss Like Only Two...Compared to in Boise where we went maybe 60%..Chavez is starting to step up

LM beat BYU 83-71. BYU has beaten Seattle Pacific 86-72 and Wash. St. 76-68. Don't know if any of those teams are any good.

Hard to compare scores, but I would say any road win early on with a young team is a great start. Especially the way they did it, learning from the first game mistakes. Showed a lot of maturity in my mind.

That Griz team that lost to Alaska Anchorage and beat Stanford goes to show how much talent and potential the teams during Kennedy's stint had. They ultimately were a bust in the league though, and had a disappointing season. MSU's going to have to resolve some issues or else they're destined for the same outcome.

Yes, too early to tell. But that season the Griz lost at AK Fairbanks, and then upset Stanford, they were one and done in the BSC Tourney (losing at home to Sac State in the first round).

Losing to Fairbanks is just BAD, no matter how you put it. To top it off, losses to Lamar and Ill-Chicago (in Bozeman) proves that the loss wasn't a fluke. Something's amiss with this Cat team.

As for the Griz win at LMU, that's a quality win. LMU isn't a WCC powerhouse, but they are very tough at home and took both Gonzaga and Washington to the wire last year, and also upset St. Maries. And they beat BYU in Provo just a few nights ago.

IMO, this is a game the Griz would have lost by 20 in the Kennedy era. The Griz have struggled against WCC teams in recent years. Nice to see them pull this one out on the road.

Seatown- The GRIZ beat Loyola by 7 at Loyola during Kennedy's first year here. That Loyola team finished the year 11-20. Obviously, the GRIZ did not have much overall success under Kennedy but did have the talent to suprise from time to time (e.g. beating Stanford).

So LMU sounds like a good team overall, especially at home. That the griz won is very exciting. I think I heard Criswell say that, until monday, the griz had not won a road game in November in a coon's age.

Not to jinx, but the griz might...just...be...unbeatable at home...

Loyola Marymount Lions
- The Lions will have a new face on the sidelines as Rodney Tention became the 23rd head coach in the history of the Lions' program on April 5, 2005.

- Tention inherits one of the most experienced squads in the conference as the Lions roster is filled with 9 upperclassmen. In addition, LMU returns 12 of the 13 players from last year's squad.

- The Lions should boast one of the best inside-outside tandems in the conference in junior forward Matthew Knight and junior guard Brandon Worthy. Knight enjoyed a break out sophomore campaign, averaging team-leading totals of 15.4 ppg and 5.9 rpg, while Worthy ranked second on the team in scoring (11.8 ppg) and first in assists per game (3.7 apg).

- The Lions travel to Provo, Utah to take on BYU (11/18) in their season-opener.

YIKES! Washington just PASTED LMU in Seattle tonight, and I mean by like 50. Man, maybe they aren't very good.
