GRIZ/Weber State game thread

To the Weber Posters. You have a great team, obviously the game could have gone either way. But glad we won... Couldn't understand why Wheelwright( sorry for the spelling) didn't play more. Looks like a tremendous player, but didn't see the floor that much. Is there an attitude problem or ?
I have been wondering that all season long.

Al-right, so - cutting out all the "whining" and "observing" here's what I thought about the game:

- Really, really physical - even though fans didn't like it, that is likely how the tourney will be.

- How we won when Weber could get anything in the post all night, is beyond me, and will likely lead to getting a thumping in the NCAA's

- I think Weber has the more "complete" roster, and would probably be better suited for the banging down low in the tourney

- It's apparent the last 4/5 games we've really missed Ward, but we somehow got it done with smoke and mirrors.

- Sounded like it was a great atmosphere at Dahlberg.

- We gotta lock Tinkle up...somehow

- Very fitting that Cherry ended his final game at home being clutch driving to the basket (after not doing so the first 33 ish minutes of the game), then hitting a clutch 3.

- It's gonna be awesome having Gregory for 2 more years. Kid is clutch at the line and pestered Bamforth all night.

- Might've been an 8-10 point victory if not for some crazy long contested 3's by Weber.

- Looking forward to MtGrizRule's recap of being there (if he does indeed do one).

Go Griz.

Oh yeah, quit whining.

Wish I were able to head over to Red's or the Mo Club right about now...my dang sister called me with 2 minutes left...I hung up on her...just gave her the apology call back. What a tough, hard-fought game.

Meeeee toooooo! Celebrating in Phoenix is just not the same!!!

Good game. Only complaint was that bogus charge foul on Berry. And I never complain about officiating. Oh well, Griz defiantly deserve to go dancing. Tinkle is one hell of a coach to do what he did with this team following the injuries to Ward and Cherry. Good luck in the NCAAs.

I am so proud of this Grizzly outfit. They overcame so much adversity during the season with injuries to key players, Yet they never relented.

Weber is the real deal, no doubt about it. We beat a very good ballclub tonight.

Cherry and Jamar were amazing at critical times.

Looking forward to seeing who we play. I predict we will give them a go.

Has Rahe got Weebs to the big dance in his tenure there? Not trolling, just curious. We sure seem to have his number when it comes to crunch time. I think Cherry's freshman year you guys went, but I dunno...

Wheelwright has tons of talent but tends to play out of control and/or stupid at times.

I do wish you good luck. Even the annoucers said the last charge was a bad call.

what did the announcers say about the rest of the game...the absolute horrid calls in Weebs favor. 46 over the back non calls, a few shoves by Whineforth, and especially the blocking call on Hutch at the end of the game.

Worst call ever.

I like the weebs players except Bamforth, dudes a douche. I like Otis, dudes a stud. and the 19 foot freshman is going to be tough.

That was the early nineties dahlberg....fun.

Congrats to the Grizzlies! Seriously could not be more impressed with Tinkle, Jamar, and Cherry. Those guys have been simply incredible the past two seasons.

I'm sort of amazed (perhaps surprised is the right word) that Weber has been able to hang on to Rahe and that UM has been able to hang on to Tinkle...I hope that trend continues; both are excellent recruiters and both certainly have their respective programs headed in the right direction.

Thanks to the Weber fans for their civil posts tonight. That just doesn't happen very often in such a tightly contested game. I, for one, appreciate it a lot.
