GRIZ/Weber State Game 2 thread

Tinkle is PISSED!!!!! Happy with Autry though. Speaking of Autry, he is talented, just young. Glad to hear Dub has some faith in him too.

im surprised we were able to beat unc and the you guys. am i shocked...not really, big sky road wins are hard to come by. we strugged big time on the road this year and now that we got some home games after 5 of 7 on the road we get 4 wins, though the unc game was a miracle shot for the win.

weber has won 18 straight regular season home big sky games.

griz at nau could be interesting. hopefully weber can take care of bobcats on sat.

it was a shame to see cherry get hurt. we have had a lot of injuries this year and it really sucks to see guys getting hurt on my team or the opponent. hopefully he'll be ok and not gone for the year like what happened to us with lillard.

dub, I have watched every Griz game, and all season long I have felt this was not a great team. I think the Griz are the best team in a poor Conference, and beyond that, a poor year for basketball in the Western US. I find it hard to see any team from the West getting into the sweet sixteen unless they get to play two games versus other western teams.

You guys have learned to play without your star. Speaking of which, it looks like the GRIZ may have to follow your lead now. Cherry's ankle roll looked pretty bad. Glad to see Weber State playing some good ball again. Honestly, I have never seen so many rim shots fall in one game by one team. They had at least 15 points from rim shots.

Interesting; Northern Colorado defeats Weber St 65 - 46 @ home. And Weber defeat Northern Colorado 72 - 71 at their place. A 20 point turnaround.

Then UM defeats Weber St 75 - 56 and losses at Weber St 68 - 52; a 35 point turnaround. Do we have homer refs or what!!!???

24 points off turnovers....Qvale made a non factor, Selvig rarely in the game, Cherry looking bad from the opening buzzer then getting hurt on a play he should not have been involved in....Jamar not a factor....Autry the go to guy.....this has nothing to do with refs......I wish it did....

Road losses happen, but I really dont like how we got destroyed at UNC and Weber. To lose a game within 10pnts is ok, with the talent that we have, we shouldnt have been crushed the way we have in the two games!

Exactly, it's a road loss. It sucks that it was a semi-blowout, but it's not the end of the world. I know I've brought this up before, but it's just another example of how a good team can sometimes just play like complete shit.

2005-2006 Season:
Griz 69 - Boise State 90
Griz 70 - Idaho State 95

As Peaux said..put the razor blades away :P

I have to agree with dub..this is a very talented Griz team that just had a bad game. Weber is also a very talented team, and usually play very good at home (6-1 at home this year). The Griz are 16-6 and on a pace to easily get 20 wins again this year and be in a good position to host the Big Sky tournament. With home court advantage being such a huge bonus, whatever team ends up hosting the tournament will obviously have a huge advantage.

I really hope that Cherry is ok and he is not seriously injured, i watched the replay and saw when he landed on it and twisted it, ouch.

Tonights game just goes to show how crazy the Big Sky is, I NEVER would have expected Weber to win by 16, on the Weber board I predicted a 3 point win for Weber, I was way off. Montana is def still the front runner with UNC still having to go to Missoula, but I gotta credit my Cats, they showed up to play.

Yep. Hell, winning on the road is tough for everyone. Washington went to Corvallis and got blown out tonight. Wazzu went into Oregon and got pasted. Gonzaga trails at Portland. It's the way of the college BB world.

I think most of us felt this Griz team was probably a 13-3, 12-4 team and it would certainly appears they will accomplish that. Tonight sucked; they played horribly; it happens.

They're still tied for first and I still love their chances. Get a win Saturday and they're in fantastic shape, even after this POS.

Suddenly, I am not so optimistic about the Griz playing Long Beach....ugh....NAU is much better than WSU well...ya never know....it isn't over yet, but WSU just scored 5 points while I type this....

I dont mean to be rude, but how do you figure NAU is "much better" than Weber? Weber already won in Flagstaff 68-67. 5,759 attendance tonight WTF??

I guess we need to learn how to brick the ball off the rim and have it roll in too. How many times can a team hit that kind of shot? AMAZING! DAMN, Cherry is hurt.

I think it's called shooters touch, something Montana knows nothing about
get real

Shooters touch is when the shooter has good trajectory and it rolls in. Some of those were flat line missiles that rolled in. Even your announcers commented during the game something like "The shooting Gods are with Weber State tonight."

Shooters touch came from guys like Lillard, Anthony Johnson, Erik Rush, Ryan Staudacher, Arceneaux, Sir, Beitzel, etc.

It happened to be Weber State's night. By the way, did I not complement your team on the win? Did I not say It was good to see them playing some good ball? Despite being complementary to your team, you come on here being an ass.
