GRIZ/WEBER game 2 thread

Jesus. How we beat them by 11 with THAT reffing crew is a fricking miracle. Worst refs I've seen in quite some time.

Well the GRIZ played 36 minutes of great basketball that game. Great defense and offense after the 1st 4 minutes. In the 2nd half we limited their rebounding and made it tough for their offense. Offensively we took care of the ball, executed well, and played very smart.

This has to be their best game of the season. I pray this is what we see every game. Our guard play controlled the game. Hutchison took advantage of it in the 2nd half. Weber State lost track of him because they were so focused on our guards. Kareem, Dunn, Deshields, and Gregory all making things happen consistently.

Wayne has to be very proud of his team tonight. I know I am. GREAT GAME MEN!!!

Great ending play by the GRIZ!!!!! holy shit!

57-68 to finish the game.
spill the beans man, what was the great ending play?

They burned about 32 seconds off the clock with incredible passing. Everyone touching the ball and moving it before they could be fouled. It was a thing of beauty.

Thanks, thanks, thanks, Ashamed for keeping the score updated for those of us in the middle of nowhere with only eGriz as a means of contact with the civilized world!!! :thumb:

And, just because I always want to give Dish Satellite Internet the praise it is due, let it be known that tonight, as has happened many times before, our download speed was too slow to watch the game via Internet. Thanks, again, Dish!!! You are our best option, and you rarely fail to fail!

That is a really good team we beat, and I'm proud of our team. The best 40 we've played all year. We jelled well. A few things we werent' happy with in the first half, but we got it all together in the 2nd half.

1-2-2 got em out of sync. We disrupted their flow. They got some easy buckets, but we hung in there and were resilient. Proud of the effort and focus.

Rebounding was a big key. Both teams shot great percentages, but only 3 TOs against them is fantastic.

We got good shot selection. Part of our scheme was to drive, drive, drive. Our focus was to dump or dish when the big men collapsed. We didn't settle in the 2nd half for 3s like we did in the first.

We handled Berry, who is a great player. We didn't give him anything easy. We did a great job on all of them, particularly the post players. We gave up some easy ones, but we did a great job on the guys around the arc.

Hutch was great. We had a heart to hear this week and got a few things cleared up. Loved the look in Hutch's eyes pregame and that's why we went to him. KJ was huge. Hit some big shots. 1 point away from the top 20 BSC all time. Played with a ton of energy. He knew he had to score for us tonight. Playing better D this year than ever.

We played with a lot of composure. KDS had great focus in practice. He was dialed in. He didn't score in the 1st half, but he set the tone, particularly for us staying calm. Great contribs from everyone who got on the floor.

We've got guys figuring it out. But we have to stay hungry. We have a tough team coming in Sat.

Dunn is like a pouncing tiger hiding in the weeds. He's so athletic. Led us in rebounding. His parents were in the crowd.

League is going down to the wire. It's all about peaking at the right time, and that's one thing the Montana Grizzlies know how to do.

Wahooooo!!!!!

Rough first three minutes of the game, 7 points Weber, and one point for Montana. Hutch had two good blocks in that time. Then 9-2 at 16:12. The 12-4 at 14:30.

Did not look good. Didn't see any panic though. Griz looked confident. Glad to see that turnaround. Montana then exploded, tied it up 12-12 at 13:00.

Defensive intensity...offensive focus

If we played like this all year we would have at least twenty wins

Great game griz!

Loved that comment by Tinks! :D

Probably the best 6-7 minute stretch of Hutchinson's Griz career. Against Tresnak he scores 6 points, I think gets 2 offensive rebounds, and forces two fouls on Tresnak.

Fun game to be at, all of the guards were great. Jamar was on a different level, he's got to be in the running for MVP again. Dunn is a rising star, great rebounds and one real nice steal. Gregory was clutch late. Deshields was real intense on D and really set the emotional tone.

Refs were real bad late. Missed travels, gave weber a timeout when they didn't have possession the ball, called some phantom fouls.
