Griz are gassed..
Yep. Looked like that toward the end. Effort was their, but NC State seemed to always have fresh legs (with talent) on the court while the Griz guys couldn't get a breather. No surprise there.
NC State only used 7 players so it's not like they had more bodies than us. The size/athleticism advantage they hold likely made it easier for them to hold up though.
Wow, didn't catch that. Hopefully, the NCS edge in general BBall ability made it look like the Griz wore down. Otherwise, have to worry about the UM conditioning.

Well, to be fair, yesterday flew across the country and then across the sea. NC State just had to cross the sea. I think it's called jet lag.

I am fairly sure we are better than we were a few years ago when I witnessed, in person, the drubbing we received at the hands of Syracuse, however I didn't get to watch tonight as I had to work. For those that saw both games, would you say we clearly are better and would have competed much better if today's team played Syracuse from 2013. I realize Syracuse 2013 was probably better than NC state this year but boths were tall athletic teams from big time programs.

It would be hard to perform worse than the team that lost to the Orange.

Yeah we definitely under achieved that day but I knew going in we couldn't compete that day. I feel much more optimistic and confident in this team. Would have liked to see today's game.

Well, the first half was outstanding. The WP coach obviously is a good one, and could see that his team's greater size would work best in the zone defense against the faster and more agile Griz. It was a good call for them, and frustrating to see the Griz unable to develop a counter-strategy. First time I have ever seen a 350 lb basketball player.

The Griz have come a long way with DeCuire as their coach. They played an ACC team without intimidation. A couple more quality players on our team, we win.

I watched the game on DVR. Pretty simple to see what the GRIZ have to improve upon. They have to take care of the ball, and shoot the 3 consistently. Both those things are very correctable. The shots will eventually start falling.

You are fully correct MtGrizRule. I didn't see much fatigue, but I did see some disconsolate players after they threw passes that were intercepted during a critical second-half span when they were mounting a comeback. Yes. The shots will fall. The more games of this type the Griz play, the more self-confident they'll get & it'll show in their performances. They gave NC State a good run. I'll bet they're telling themselves they can win this kind of game.

Now, however, a big test will be to not allow a let-down against a D1 opponent they can beat (WSU).
