Griz vs SUU

Another very sloppy pass. Got lucky the refs called a foul there or it would've been another turnover. We have 7 turnovers so far this half.

Jamar at the line shooting 1 and 1. Hits the first and misses the second, Griz down 25-22 with under a minute to go in the half.
 
Brutal.

This team is too talented to be this bad. I'm out of excuses. It's time for good players to play good basketball. And we have 11 guys who are not.

Griz shooting 31.8% from the field for the half (7-22) and 2-9 from 3.

Griz being outrebounded 15-13 now it looks like.

Jamar has 11 points (3-7 shooting, 1-2 from 3, and 4-7 from the FT line), 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and 2 turnovers.
DeShields has 5 points (2-4 shooting, 1-2 from 3), 2 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 turnover, 1 foul

No one else has more than 2 right now. Gregory, Gfeller and Hutch have 2 a piece.

You couldn't have written my exasperated thoughts better. Despite its achilles heel in the 5, the Griz seem to often be surprised that they're playing a game. I've never been more frustrated with a team.

Do they even know why they're on the court?
 
We are running no offense at all and 2 of 9 from the 3 point line will not get it done. If we live by the three we can die by the three. Maybe the second half we will shoot lights out. We will have to improve substantially on offensive to win this puppy. Defensively we are doing ok if we will block off the boards.

17 fricking minutes of no audio cept crowd noise....REAL classy! Great video and some cute dancers, but please! And then our "O" has no clue with sloppy entry passes and WAY too many forced throws----ARRGGHHH!!!

To say this game is sloppy/ugly is being kind.

Cmon Griz---you are better than this. Let's see a BASKETBALL team return for the second half instead of a glorified intramural crew!
 
No way we play like this the second half though. SUU is not that good on defense and we are usually a fairly efficient offensive team. With our quickness we should be able to take it right at them and get to the line a shitload in the 2nd half, like every other team has been able to do so far this year.

They have 0 D1 wins. In fact their closest loss at home was a 15 point loss to UC Riverside. They got blown out at home by Sac and NAU earlier at home. This should not be a close game right now...

Here are the stats for all the Griz players in the first half. Notice how much production we got from our bench so far. Kemp hasn't played yet. Must be in the doghouse again?

18 minutes, 5 points, 2-4 shooting, 1-2 from 3, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 turnover, 1 foul
Hutchison:
10 minutes, 2 points, 1-1 shooting, 2 rebounds, 1 turnover, 1 foul.

Bradshaw:

Weisner:
10 minutes, 0 points, 0-1 shooting, 0-1 from 3, 1 rebound, 1 foul
Gfeller:
8 minutes, 2 points, 0-1 shooting, 0-1 from 3, 2-2 from the FT line, 1 turnover
Martin:
4 minutes, 0 points, 0-1 shooting, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 2 fouls
 
This has to be the worst performance by Gregory that I have seen. Dunn has been a defensive whiz.
 
Wow. Dunn with 9 points in the 2nd half so far just had a steal and a layup. SUU falling apart so they called a timeout.

Griz up 34-33 now with 15:37 to go in the game.

Mario is giving us the fight and emotion that Will used to lead us with. That is a spark we have been missing.
 
This year's GRIZ so unlike past GRIZ teams. Normally this time of season, the GRIZ are starting to peak. This year, they are so far away from being more than an average team.
