Sacred heart was good. They have a good record and were in 2 games against top 10 teams. They’ll be a playoff bubble team. Are we allowed to give Sacred Heart some credit? I apologize if it was already mentioned, but Fonoti was tackled by the face mask on that 4th and short. Big moment of the game. Offense looked really good. Not a great day for the D. Move on. 7-0. Go Griz
I absolutely agree. I think that the 3-3-5 has to have certain pieces in order to function properly. We had those pieces in 2023. We don’t have them now. It starts with a dude in the middle that can cause problems and while Gubner was a beast I don’t believe that he was a unicorn, 97 from ISU was that guy.I think a coupe players are limited by athleticism won't mention names it’s obvious when you watch them. IMO the majority of the problem is players making mistakes and missing assignments on pivotal plays at inopportune times. I think this is a new system with a lot of new players and it is slowly starting to get a bit better as the season goes on. I unlike you like the 3-3-5 and its versatility but we could definitely use a couple better pieces that fit into the puzzle a bit better skills wise. Rover for instance. Not that the current player is doing a bad job, but a better skill set and size would be an upgrade at that position
Agreed, that would have been my next point. The whole thing works better at he point of attack and having an athletic NG that eats double teams kickstarts the whole thingI absolutely agree. Sure hope the coaches fix that. The execution of defense is so poor, I am not sure how one can get an accurate read on the scheme. The linebackers are undisciplined, the defensive backfield lacks connection with the front, etc. I don't think a different scheme makes up for the awful execution.
If you’re giving 100 points I need to go take out a loan on the house.Embarrassing. Win or lose i hope.Frank Gogala digs into Bobby after this one. Cats are going to beat us 100-0
Post game guys on the radio mentioned potentially next week.We need to start getting home. I really like some of our looks at the end of the game….rushing 4 dudes. Oven delayed blitz. Stunt by Peck up the middle. These were obvious passing situations….but still good looks nonetheless. I think we can all agree that the defense looks vastly better with Loud in the game. Any word on his status?
I always respect your opinions. This one I disagree with. The Griz O didn’t really have the ball much of the 2nd half to be able step on throat. The defense let them have long sustained drives. The Griz O was not the problem at all today. You’re talking about one game. My original post was pointing to the fact that he’s not ever been a coach that does that. Ever. In his career here. We scored 22 points in less than a quarter and then went into coast mode. At which point we let Sacred Heart crawl there way back into it. Now you can say that the players decided to take the rest of the game off and there’s some validity to that argument, but who’s job is it to make sure they don’t do that?
Strongly disagree. Sacred heart was not a good football teamSacred heart was good. They have a good record and were in 2 games against top 10 teams. They’ll be a playoff bubble team.
Instead, we remain consistent on our inconsistency and both side of the line either regressed or played the same they have all yearLooking for consistency and seeing another step forward taken by both lines. Looks like Sacred Heart came to play, let’s go Griz Maul ‘Em!!
I think it could be worse unfortunately.Strongly disagree. Sacred heart was not a good football teamthis is just the most consistently inconsistent Griz team ever. They have a high ceiling and a decently high floor, which is why they’re 7-0, but we only get to see their ceiling for a quarter per game, while the rest of the time we get their floor
I disagree, but that’s ok. As I said I’m not talking about just this game. But I appreciate your opinionI always respect your opinions. This one I disagree with. But you were including this game.I disagree, but that’s ok. As I said I’m not talking about just this game. But I appreciate your opinion
Watching them play Northern Colorado right now. Both Defenses seem to be playing tough so far1-0 today.
On to the bumble bees.
