Griz vs Sac

Having to go to California is always tough that was a good win. Now head back to Missoula for the rest of the regular season.

UM is running clock in the last few minutes, not trying to score too quickly.

Selvig has double double, and personal best in rebounds.

15, all in 2nd half, for Cherry.

He played very smart tonight and had a good game but if you're 7 feet tall and you have an easy layup, you take it

Not if the coach has said to run the clock down on every possession.

I get Derek is virtually a finished product developmentally and his role is not his inside presence, but his decision-making is straight up exasperating at times.

Regardless, great win Griz!!! Great teams power through and finish off inferior opponents even when they're playing sub-par.

Pretty ugly game, but a conference win on the road is a conference win on the road. Way to go, Griz!

Exactly. To play 4 games in 7 days, with 3 on the road, and come away 4-0 is pretty damn good, even if the last one was ugly!

great win to set us up for a fun four game home stretch and a huge game versus Weber if we take down NAU and MSU....

Agreed, Griz are coming home now for the rest of the regular season. Home court should be welcoming!

After a long trip home the Griz need 2 to 3 days off to get recharged. Nice season so far let's finish with a bang.

Cherry with 17, all in 2nd half. Selvig with 14 rebounds (career high), 14 points and 4 assists. Steward with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Jamar with only 5. Cherry with only 2 baskets. 12-15 from line.

27 fouls against SS. 17 against UM. UM had 16 turnovers. 41-34 rebound lead for UM.

Tinkle says SS came at UM hard. UM didn't play well but fought back. Credited Selvig and Steward with fighting off SS's run in first half. UM still hasn't played a full good 40 minute game. Gregory 2 free throws and a 3.

4th game in 7 days, with 3 on the road. Best conference road record ever for UM.

19-6 record.

Tinkle staying in CA to do recruiting and see Jos play tomorrow afternoon.

I think part of the problem is that when you are 7 feet tall, you stick out like a sore thumb and everyone sees every little thing you do. You can't pick your butt without being noticed.

Growler joke...nice

Pretty impressive run the Griz are on right now. 9 in a row and 14 of their last 15 after starting the season 5-5. :thumb:

Only one more win and that will be 3 years in a row with 20+ wins too!

The Griz can finish 23-6, go into the tourney in Missoula and end with 25-6...and two of those losses should not have happened. A good year by anyone's measure and sadly I am afraid a year closer to Tinks moving on to greener pastures...I think next year is going to be the greatest in UM bball...

I wouldn't pretend to know anywhere near as much about basketball as Tinkle. He is a really, really good coach and I don't think that's debatable anymore.

But for the situation that I'm thinking of, choosing to burn clock over an easy two doesn't make sense. The game wasn't out of reach for Sac State, but the griz lead was comfortable and if Tinkle specifically told them to pass up EVERY shot (especially a layup for a post) down to, say, 8 seconds on the shot clock, then he was wrong. For that specific situation. But again, that's just my opinion, I love Tinkle and Selvig, and I was ecstatic to see a Griz game in person this year. Beats the hell outta the JuCo games I've been stuck watching

No matter how ugly, a Griz win is a good thing and 3 road wins in one week is a fantastic thing.

is it just me or was this a STRANGE game! Very sloppy, but a road win non the less....That building does some crazy things to a team...The camera work was very poor and sometimes not easy to see, but was i the only one that noticed the starters played all but about what seemed like 2 mins in the second half? haha the last 8 mins of the first half we saw players that rarely see the floor, then the whole second half basically NO subs haha....this building does strange things! tough game, great job batteling even when not playing very well. GO GRIZ
