Griz vs. Sac

Most of the losses suffered by the Griz have been due to offensive
meltdown. At home in particular they must shoot the outside shot.
Otherwise teams are just going to zoneD us anddouble strait.
we need to push the ball up and find out who can shoot it.
Virgil needs to start producing pts again-he is the best passer
we have.Hopefully jordan and chavez can help on the boards.
I still think Mayes needs more minutes-I think he has great potential.

Is Sacramento State more athletic than Montana? You bet. Can Freeman eat Martin for lunch? You bet? Is Montana a smarter and better coached team? You bet.

I think Sacramento State has made tremendous strides, but after getting Harris back, they sort of sit around thinking they'll win just by having him out there. I definately envisioned ISU having a chance at the Griz in Pocatello two weeks ago, and I correctly picked the the Griz would prevail over the Bobcats last week with home court advantage. I see a nice crowd (probably 5,000 or so) flustering the Hornets, and I really think Andrew Strait has a nice game (I'm thinking like 24 and 10 or so). If Strait can do that, and you guys get a smidgen of production off the bench, I think it's a pretty safe win.

BBB's prediction: Montana 83, Sacramento State 74

EWU at WSU....

Eastern Washington finally has gotten some contributions from a player not named Stuckey, and that's made the difference. While Stuckey is unreal in his own right, when he gets help, it certainly makes the Eagles pretty scary. Weber State won four straight, basically sticking around until the final 10 minutes and then catching Montana and Montana State, getting the lead at the end and holding on for dear life. That won't happen here. Stuckey will probe too much, and the boo-bird return to Ogden again.

BBB's prediction: Eastern Washington 78, Weber State 62

THURSDAY
Portland State at Idaho State
What has happened to the Vikings? Didn't they beat Oregon? Portland State has been abysmal on the road, and they are going to become the first team to go from first to worst after becoming the first to go from worst to first last year. The Bengals are trying just to squeak into the playoffs to give Doug Oliver one last hurrah, and a win here is necessary. Idaho State tends to answer the bell when their backs are to the wall, and this should be no different, although the Vikings will be as stubborn as they have been all season, but they still lose a close one

BBB's prediction: Idaho State 79, Portland State 74

Northern Arizona at Montana State
Is NAU really 10-1? NAU is not very athletic, not very quick, and in reality, they shouldn't be very good, but they are. A part of that is the seniors on this workaholic-type team. Montana State has won the games they should win, and lose the ones they should lose. They are at home, but the road hasn't quite scared NAU this season in league play, and I don't see them getting riled here. I think MSU comes out on fire, but NAU's steady play and deadly shooting give them a comeback win that is closer than the final score

BBB's prediction: Northern Arizona 81, Montana State 73

Just my thoughts.....

BBB,

You make some great points, however if you had been at Hornet Gym when the Griz played Sac, you would not have said that about Freeman. The Griz ate his lunch that game, thanks to Brian Ellis. Martin didn't play much that game, but has played very well of late. Freeman is a gamer and I am sure he remembers getting embarassed on his home court. If SAC is not hitting their 3's they are in for a long night because they cannot bang inside.

I also think the Weber game will be much closer than you predict. Do not be surprised if Weber gets the win. I also think NAU will lose at msu. The cats are much better at home and NAU is vulnerable. Other than all that we totally agree. :thumb:

Yeah, I didn't see the game in SAC, but that sort of proves my point...Freeman can eat Martin for lunch, so what does a smart coach like Krysto do? Use Ellis more. I think UM outcoaches SAC, and that more than anything leads to a win.

I certainly think you are right that the EWU/WSU and MSU/NAU game can go the other way, but I think Weber is streaky, and they're due for a bad streak LOL...and like I said, I think MSU leads most of that game...maybe the whole thing...depends on Durham's point abilities at the end.

Good luck tonight....Bengal fans are seriously pulling for the Griz tonight.

(Now that the whole Dlouhy/Kinghorn crap is over, it's nice to talk basketball like normal people)
