Griz vs. North Dakota Predictions...

Montana is a stellar program. For some reason they don't scare me like some other Big Sky programs. We seem to match up better with them than with other teams. We played them tough in 2010 when we really sucked, and beat them last year. Ironically, I feel better going into this game with the Griz, than I did going into the SDSU game, and the Jackrabbits are a team that we have historically had our way with. They will be better than they were last year, especally with the return of your QB. But it I think North Dakota is better than last year as well. The jury is still out on our run defense obviously. But our D seemed to be able to get off the field in key situations last Saturday. They will need to tighten things up for sure, but as good as the Grizzly running attack is, it is not nearly as good as SDSU's IMO.

I'm not gonna make a score predicition, but I think it will be another close game either way......................

38-28 UND I was there last year and watched my wife almost cry as she watched her beloved Griz fall. It was a fun game and tailgate. I expect much the same this year, and we will be there again.

Hate to rain on your parade, but it won't be your wife crying this year...38-20 Griz.

TOP Griz 40.00/the unnamed 20.00

I'm not worried for our secondary. With no run game, it's hard for the QB to throw when he is knocked on his ass before he can even pull back the ball.

Revenge is ours!

Griz 44 (one missed extra point and two missed field goals)
UND 14 (Yeah they will hook up once during the meat of the game, and once in trash time).

Likely scenario, their stud WR will likely make at least one great play for a long TD. Other than that we run for 4 bills, Van puts up 250 and it's over early. Front 7 on D get 6+ sacks. This won't be close.

You realize that 2010 was a transition year for us? First time we'd missed the playoffs since the early 90s. If you're not more scared than when you play SDSU I hope you've got a new pair of shorts for Saturday evening.

I seen on their forums a few weeks ago that close to 90% of them believe they will win this game... Are we missing something or is it gonna be that close of a game? I think the Griz are gonna have a decent lead towards the end.

Apparently beating the worst Griz team in two decades by 6, at home with SSH leading the way for UM, is the formula for confidence. I say let them have it. Makes the fall back to reality even sweeter.

Yes sir! I was thinking the same thing a while back but it kinda weighed on my mind. I hope they put up a hell of a fight but I'm almost willing to bet that there is gonna be some trash time. I hope Coach D floors it thru the entire game.

No offense, but I think it's pretty obvious that it's subpar. I'll be really surprised if we don't rack up at least 300 yards on the ground.

As bad as the Griz were last year, we managed to stay with ND for most of the game, and we could have won the thing. ND fans will be expecting a similar team from Montana on Saturday. Let me just say that the difference this year is drastic. We are much better in all phases.

We are a talented and very deep football team with much to prove this year. Don't underestimate our tradition! They won't say it but they want ND bad after their embarrassment last year. They are prepared, focused, healthy and more talented than you realize. This game has been circled on our calendars for a long time!

Maybe this is a stupid question....but why do the Grizzlies go up to Grand Forks back to back years?

Last years game was a conference game. This years game is the last part of a home & home agreement between the Griz & UND back when UND wasnt part of the Big Sky. Game will count as an OOC game.

You might be right. Unfortunately, UM had App State at home to open the season and App state is simply not very good. Still, UM did not allow them to score a td....going to be a good game and I will happy if the Griz pull it out.

Last years game was memorable for many reasons. The obvious memory was the Griz pass D looking like a middle school squad, but on a postive note the Griz refused to give up, keeping the game close while also taking the lead towards the end of the game. While I am not convinced the Griz pass D is solved from last year after 1 game, I am confident the Griz will learn from last years game and at least keep UND's offensive numbers respectable. I am going to hold off calling this years Griz team dominate, as it appears the last game was against a weaker than usual App State team at home. UND played SDSU tough till the end, so there is no looking past this team.

GRIZ - 38

UND - 28

The thing that is missing at UND, is a cheering section. My daughter goes to UND, her third year, and has been to two games, one was last year with us to this game. There were more Griz people tailgating last year than Sioux. Sucks, and is embarrassing. If we could only have the crowd the Griz and NDSU has home field advantage would be huge.

Tough game? According to my ESPN app, SDSU was destroying them til the 4th quarter 28-7. From the looks of it, SDSU brought in some 2nd stringers to get some playing time. I didn't see the game but it looked to be kind of an ass kicking.

Here is what happens when your wife is a Griz and you are a Sioux. I like the Griz and cheer for them except when they play the Sioux and the Cats. She has been mumbling in her sleep about 600 yards, laces out, and some things I don't understand. Anyway this is what I looked like when I woke up, after I put on my Sioux hat and Testicle Festival shirt on. Sioux Suck on my forehead and a Griz emblem on my cheek. It was a long ride home to Fargo last year with a drunk Griz fan in the car. I will be the only one with a Sioux hat in the Griz section Saturday.

Never mess with a Montana Griz lady, whose ND plates say MTGRIZLOVER, and email is mtgrizlover. boy I can't wait to on my Cat hat for the Cat Griz game. Just hope I live

No second stringers or ass kicking. UND Had more yards and easily could have won, and I watched the whole game. It was 28-14 after 3 quarters. 10 penalties for 107 yards really was the difference. 3-10 and SDSU has the ball on there own 8 Sumner, the QB, rushes for 5 yards and UND gets called for a late hit with 4:30 left. they would have been punting from their endzone. SDSU fans even said the call was bad. I am sure there were calls both ways like that you just remember the ones at the end. A couple of plays was the difference. Hopefully UND starts Molberg.

I have watched Zenner in a few games and that guy is unbelievable. He runs better than anyone.

Should be a good game, we are better than last year. I also think the Griz are much better with JJ at the helm. Don't think anyone will run away with it. I will be amazed if anyone goes through the Big Sky with only one loss this year.
