MBBALL GRIZ vs NAU game thread

It is a couple minutes before the game and no one has posted a game thread. What is this disinterest? I know there seems to be a lot of people disinterested in this team. Well, I’m still behind them.

One problem, which team will show up. The one that stayed with Texas A&M or the one that lost to TECH. This is D-Day, the conference has started.

Good news, defense is playing much better so far. The offense is off some. Missing a few too many open shots. Money's perimeter game is still off. O think he's got a lingering hand or finger injury.

NAU is focused on Money.
We either need to back door their hedge defenders or spread the court more easier looks and isolations.

I am at an event with a bunch of people for New Year’s. Only got to watch a couple minutes of the first half. I’ve enjoyed the comments.

Solid 2nd half by the GRIZ.
This 2nd half GRIZ is what they need to be consistently.
Sawyer, Thompson and Hicks are being much more aggressive on offense. I really like that.

Now that’s more like it! If this second half Griz team shows up the rest of conference play, then we can challenge anyone. Offense was good, defense was good, rebounding was good! Hopefully they have some confidence now. Big test Saturday!

Saturday vs. Northern Colorado should be an interesting matchup. Denker vs. Money should create some sparks.

In other news. The Lady Griz lost 81 - 72. Record is now 3 - 9. For the Lady Griz to win, they have to score more than 81 points as they have yet to win a game scoring fewer.

It was good to see the Griz play well the second half because I would be very worried saturday if they didn't.

NAU is not good. They only have 3 D-1 wins and their leading scorer (Davidson) couldn't cut it here, so I wasn't too impressed by them. N Colorado will be another story, especially after losing in Bozeman Thursday. They will be hard to handle. I don't know what to say about Money. He only shows up every other game (for half a game). Sawyer is the softest low-post Griz ever. He has no idea what to do with the ball when he gets it down-low. Use your size and take it to the hole!!
