Griz vs Idaho State game day

Our O-Line and Defense as a whole desperately need to improve after this week. Mentioned it earlier but a performance like that won't be enough to beat the Dakota States or even win out in the Big Sky.
 
Something about Holt Arena games. Just a freakishly difficult place to win. We can complain all we want about the defense, but it is the offensive line that got manhandled all night. They were flat out terrible. How many 2nd and 12s did we have? Team showed incredible toughness when they were on their heels most of the night. Great escape … great win.

I absolutely continue to double down man. There’s no way to polish the turd of a defensive outing we witnessed tonight. That was every bit as bad as Weber state last season. If they can get loud back and health that will certainly help, but that defensive secondary has BIG problems that will continue to show up the rest of the season. ISU just laid out the blueprint for how to attack them

It's a long season, we have seven more weeks of regular season. That's a lot of time for players to improve. You want to play your best ball at the end of the year.

This defense lives and dies by the blitz. If they’re going to play man coverage like they do they have to pressure the QB, and they are still statistically the worst pass rushing defense in the big sky as of tonight. Somehow, some way, they’ve got to find a way to pressure the QB

Not every team has a Jordan Cooke, Shukilov and Nunnally.

That's correct and Hauk teams do tend to improve as the year goes on, however at the same time he isn't wrong. The O-Line run blocking and the Defense as whole did not have a great game tonight, both need improvement.
