Griz vs. EWU - Thursday 7:00PM

Nice win by the Griz last night. So nice to see shots dropping for us, especially from the free throw stripe. Congrats to Coach D! :thumb:

That was nice! I had thought that Pridgett was shooting them better but was shocked to see he made 10-11! Keep it up, boys!

That is a concern. :? Can it heal quickly (1 week) or will it be an ongoing issue?

You could see him mouth to the trainer his shoulder popped out

if it's a subluxation...i.e. sorta popped out but not dislocated, could tear the labrum. That never heals. It's manageable, but very painful at times. A lot of rehab and can be episodic with symptoms. If significant tear and unable to manage it...surgery. With at last 4 months of recovery. I didn't see, what was the actual injury mechanism?

I don't think it happened in view of the TV camera. I didn't see what occurred while watching the game.
Believe he just dove for a ball out of bounds and when he got up he was holding his shoulder in pain.
Hope he wasn't hurt too badly.

I was at the game last night and sat right behind the Griz bench. Some stuff I noticed:

-To start, Davidson is a pompous prick. I haven't liked him since the first time is saw him on the court two years ago. He was talking the whole game and Pridgett finally got sick of it towards the end. I loved it when Pridgett walked over the top of him after getting fouled.

-I was worried the score was going to be the other way around because against the common opponent of Nebraska Omaha the outcomes were opposite. EWU beat them by 40 and we lost. Davidson, Peatling, and Aiken were pretty much non-factors. Davidson got most of his points when the game was already decided. Peatling was good when he got the ball but EWU didn't look to get the ball to him too much when he posted up and the Griz took away the pick and roll which they seemed to want to run a majority of the time. Pridgett took Aiken out of the game from the beginning and didn't allow him to get many open shots.

-Decuire was upset when we were up by 20 midway in the second half because EWU wouldn't keep their mouths shut. He called a time out and was yelling at the team to not let up and bury them. He wasn't at all upset at his team.

-When Mac fouled out the pep band was yelling at him to sit down because he couldn't play anymore. Mac pointed to the scoreboard and said "you play in the band." Made me laugh and the guy didn't say another word.

- EWU had nice jersey's. Above the EWU there was stitching of the Spokane skyline. It would be cool if Griz did that with the mountains around campus. Their coaches show is at a restaurant in Spokane too. I think EWU is really trying to tie into Spokane to get more fans. It makes sense since it is only a 10 or 15 minute drive to campus.

-Great crowd at the beginning of the game. The student section was full but by the middle of the second half very sparse.

-Had no issues with fans. I think their basketball fans are much more polite than the ones for football. A guy sitting behind me was very impressed with DJ. He said he is going to enjoy watching him play the next few years.

-It was nice to see a dominant W in Cheney since we have lost there the last two years.

Thanks for your interesting observations. Puts some things in context.

I noticed while watching the game last night, for example, that DeCuire was not happy with something even though his team was up by about 20 at some point. I thought maybe a player, or player, had made a mistake. Interesting that he was triggered by EWU's running at the mouth. (Why were they doing that when they down by so much? LOL)

Things are set up for an fascinating rematch in Missoula.

It's kind of odd to use the Spokane skyline, though. Like if UM used a picture of the Frenchtown city hall on its jerseys.

I thought it was kind of weird too but when your population is only 12K and there is 217K people just 10 miles down the road you try to get them interested.

Thanks deb. I was thinking that was kind of an odd time for TDC to take a TO, but that makes complete sense now. I just love his style of coaching, and you absolutely KNOW his players love it.

Right?? They should just own the Cheney Pride and put the outline of Zips Drive In on there. That'd be sweet.

Just visited the EWU fan board to see what their thoughts were in game. Prior to game a number of them (let’s face it there’s only like 5 of them who post over there) were saying it should be an easy double digit win for EWU and that Montana wasn’t very good this year. Ahhhh love it.

Griz Defense drove every aspect of this game. I really hope the entire team really buys into the end results for the rest of the season.

From what I have seen is, if you don't buy into it your minutes go way down, way down, down by the end of the bench.

It’s not that unusual, Northwestern does this by trying to claim Chicago, and plenty of pro teams do this as well.

I went back and watched some highlights from last nights game. Mac Anderson didn’t stuff the stat lines, but I thought he played a really nice game. I thought he played with some confidence and maybe even a bit of a mean streak, which I love to see.

Great win last night, and what confidence building game for a young team. After that performance, they should believe that they can match up with anyone in the conference anywhere and have the ability to win.

Go Griz!

Agree 100% about Mac - Keep it up young man!
