Griz vs CSU

Since this is a university for students, I do think that the students should have the best seats available at any venue yet it will most likely never happen because in this day and age money talks over everything else.

I'm sure some people are going to get pissed over their seats being moved for students, but you know what, who really cares if they get angry. If they decide not to renew their tickets the next year there is almost always someone that will take their place. There really isn't a bad seat in the house, and if you're going to sit on your duff or not show up for the games and leave your seat empty, why not move more energetic fans closer for the players to feed off of.

Agreed. It's good when you have an AD who was part of the Zoo when it was at its prime.

colorado state is picked for last in the mwc by most of the basketball mags, but does bring in three three-star freshman recruits, together with a super-quick jaycee guard who averaged 25 per in high school. one of their high schoolers is andre mcfarland, a touted 6'6" wing, so we'll get an early assessment of how we're going to match up at that position throughout the season.

another player on the c.s.u. roser is dan vandervieren, a big kid the griz were after before he signed with purdue. he's since transferred to c.s.u., where he's redshirting this year. had we signed him, we might not have gone after vanderjagt.

this definitely needs exposure to work. just joined your facebook group colin. invited my friends... Is the kaimin going to print anything about it?

not sure. may try a guest column. not sure they'll publish that because they really fuckin hate me.

I suggested that the marketing department run a bunch of ads. Hope that goes through.

did you put up those griz hoops flyers? looked like the same font as those shirts you were designing. saw about four or five in a short walk across campus, nice work..

Because it's not a gonzaga thread... who starts on friday? who would you start?

who will:

1. Martin
2. Cam
(these could be switched. I want martin at the 2. he slows down the offense when he runs the point. he's got a great shot though.
3. Stads
4.Jordo
5.drew

mentioned this elsehwhere:
1.Cam
2.Martin
3.Jordo
4.Drew
5. Qvale

if they go really small and things aren't lookin good
1. Ceylon
2.Martin
3. Cam
4. Stads
5. Jordo

Take a look at Gonzagas roster. When we play them our BIGS will see alot of time. To beat them we will have to spread the court and work the offense from the inside out, and hope our 3's are on. As for CSU, I am not too familar with them yet. Griz need to use our depth though. Most importantly the Students need to be LOUD AND PROUD. DO NOT LET UP or SHUT UP!!!! LOUD, LOUD, LOUD, no sitting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If or when the students get back to where they have always belonged - let me add this. I use to have seats in that section until we went down a level in GSA. So we got bumped from that section to the second level and to tell you the truth I prefer the seats on the second level better. You can actually see the game better being a little further away!!! Just my :twocents:

PS - Kudos to Tinkle and O'day for trying to set things right!!!

Students just need to show their Griz Card, right? No tickets like football?

By the way, in case anybody hasn't heard, although I'm sure you have, first 1,000 students get a free t-shirt and they're giving out free pizza to students arriving at 5:30ish.

Yeah, um, i made the shirts. we know.

something worth noting: there are only 375 lower seats. How many people do you think we can actually fit in there?

Swillz, we gotta be there by 5 at the latest.

AThome, will the students fill the section? How is the atmosphere? Are all the students on the same page for being loud and proud?

We will definitely be filling courtside with it likely spilling over to the second level. We have a solid buzz going. Moreso than for any game since I've been here (I'm a jr). Not everyone is as pumped as us but you hear things. people asking others if they're going... saying 'i wish everyone would stand like at football.' I think we'll have a big enough core group of diehards to really lead this.

I think we can do this. It's lining up just right. I think, for a lot of students, football is getting stale. It's same old same old until the playoff night games.

ME TOO :thumb:
Seriously, if this is successful. I think many of those seat owners would be willing to have GSA seats elsewhere at a discounted price. Then slightly raise concessions and public tickets to make up for some $. I am a huge advocate that the students belong as close to action as possible.
