I agree with this post. Don't know what happened to Everett. Adds little to the board anymore. Only his snippy and often indicipherable comments. Doesn't even seem to be routinely supporting Engstrom, or maybe it's just that Engstrom isn't getting hammered as much.

So you're saying that "tradition" doesn't matter? There are probably hundreds of millions and maybe even billions of sports fans worldwide that would disagree with you.

Nope thats not what I said. Past results do not predict future results. And the world is pretty dumb if they disagree with that.

What you said is "none of what happened prior to this year matters" and if you meant "Past results do not predict future results" then that is what you should have said. I am quite sure that two statements don't mean the same thing. Besides sports bettors in Vegas wouldn't agree with your revised statement either -- not that you will of course care -- but these people make a living predicting the future so I'd say you are still pretty much wrong. I believe you will find that teams with winning histories are a good bet to continue to win.

Teams with winning histories don't always win. I'm not going to make to big a list but its pretty obvious no matter what sport you look, or at what level. They trend towards winning, and then losing. And yes those two things mean the exact same thing, at least to me. Let me repeat myself...

Cleveland Browns have great tradition. Does them a lot of good these days. How about them Longhorns? The Canadians are the New York Yankees of the NHL....and speaking of the Yankees - how longs it been? Now of course I can also name teams that win, that have no "tradition".....ie the Patriots.
