What you said is "none of what happened prior to this year matters" and if you meant "Past results do not predict future results" then that is what you should have said. I am quite sure that two statements don't mean the same thing. Besides sports bettors in Vegas wouldn't agree with your revised statement either -- not that you will of course care -- but these people make a living predicting the future so I'd say you are still pretty much wrong. I believe you will find that teams with winning histories are a good bet to continue to win.

The BSC championship thing is a joke. 2 of the times you won it you plays EWU out of conerence and they beat you both times! And for many years with foolerton as commissioner most of your conference games were teams who played the Griz the week before!

Actually, in 2010 we beat Eastern 30-7 at home and it was a conference game. In 2011, we beat EWU on the road 36-21 and it was a conference game. In 2012, they beat us by 3 at home and it was a conference game. Shared a Big Sky title each of those years.

As for your last sentence... :roll:

Without every team in the conference playing all the teams in the conference, there is not true conference champion.

Thats the thing, when the Griz were rolling through the BSC with championships we were mostly going undefeated through the conference....therefore no dispute about who was absolutely the best team....

Since the cats have won their BSC titles....they have had the opportunity to beat up on shit schools and still lose to the 1 or 2 good schools they played. Half the time they play EWU its non conference anymore.....UND is one of their "rivals" for christ sake.

Another thing..it doesnt matter if the cats win the conference because they always get bounced in the 1st 2 rounds......lets come back down to earth over there boys!
 
This is where we need to insert the pic from Face Book showing the ground breaking of the Champions Center and Locker rooms. These 2 additions to Griz athletics will assure Griz dominance on the football field for at least another decade.

Basically, we are "rivals" because we are the closest team in proximity to them in the conference (which is still about a 12 hour drive from Bozeman). And on EWU, the Cats aren't in-charge of who they play in-conference so I'm glad we play EWU non-conference when we have the chance so don't really know what that statement is about.

During Ash's tenure, here was our record against conference foes:

UM - 2-7
EWU - 2-7
NAU - 3-4
Everyone Else - 42-7 (and three of those losses came last year)

So basically, we had an awful record against the three most consistently good teams over the past 9 years. Not good enough.
 
State College would be more successful in the NAIA as they certainly are not a rival of UM. It is difficult for State College to recruit good student-athletes as compared to UM, thus, I've been told you can't win football games without good ball players. I would think the situation at State College will continue to get worse no matter how much lip service they give. :lol: :thumb:

Well, you are right on us not beating the top teams (on average) in the conference over the past 9 years under Ash and beating up on the weaker opponents. And the Big Sky designated UND as a rival to us so we had no control over that.

Here let me give you a list of people I'd like you to argue with for me next..Playa Rep...GrizGirl....if you have no plans for the summer throw in UM75 also...haha

But I know MSU didnt pick UND...there was absolutely no thought put in to which teams were eachothers rivals after Montana and EWU it seems.
 
I swear GrizGirl and UM75 are one in the same. There have been many, many posts about Stitt and unprofessional press conferences and lack of press releases by Stitt posted by GrizGirl over there. Makes ya wonder.
