Griz verbal commit John Nguyen

For people living in WA, does Bellevue still run 95% of the time??? I remember watching a playoff game 4 years ago or so, and they constantly ran

Watching the last 7 minutes, 35-3 Bellvue, big back just busted one 95 yards. Bvue has allowed 13 points in 4 playoff games. Appears Nguyen is the third best back on the team. Two ahead going FBS. Color guy posits that Bvue is the best HS team in the country.10 state titles in 12 years, 5 in a row.

Cuervohala, in 2004 they beat Mater Dei from the Bay area that had a 139 game winning streak and never threw a pass. I may be wrong but I think Nate Montana was a backup QB for Mater Dei.

Correction as my aging mind had to resort to Wiki...it was De La Salle that Bellvue beat in 2004 and their winning streak was 151 games. Nate Montana did play for De La Salle after that but I don't think he started, perhaps someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Yup, De la Salle is from the bay area and mater dei is from SD area...just had that Mater dei thing refreshed when i watched espn 30 for 30 on Todd Moranavich....pretty interesting and very sad story

Bellvue HS ranked # 4 in the USA Today prep top 25...good luck to John coming here, he knows what a winning program is all about. :thumb:

Really excited about John coming here. :thumb:

BTW, is David Nguyen still a Griz? I don't see his name on the roster, and haven't heard anything from him in a while. Anybody know what's up? Sorry if this is an old issue.

I'd take Whiting and their nose guard as well. Whiting has some serious speed. Congrats to JN and Bellevue on their state championship :!:

David couldn't afford to stay here without a schollie, so didn't return to school this fall at UM. Is at EWU. Not playing football.

Nguyen is the main rb for Bellevue. No. 4 is going to UCLA to play defense. 32 is a great athlete. Think he's a junior. The opponent's D shut down Bellevue for the most part, and then Bellevue would come up with huge plays and some big 3rd down conversions.

71 yard punt return on first half. Don't think Bellevue had 100 yards of total offense in the first half. 61 yard td run in third quarter. 95 yard td run. qb had 30 or so yard run for td. qb had over 100 yards on 8 carries. There's almost 200 yards of the 318 yards of rushing, on just those 3 plays. Nguyen was shut down. Announcers were saying in the first half and into the second half that Eastside was shutting down Bellevue's offense for the most part.
