GRIZ/Vandals part Deuce

Gutsy performance by the Griz. Difficult to win on the road and this team showed at lot of heart. BQ seemed to have an off night but hard to pass judgment when all we have is the radio play by play to go by. Kareem and Mathis stepped up tonight when we needed them. That's the sign of a good team, balance and patience. I was hoping for a split on this road trip but think we can go into conference on a three game win streak.
Kudos to the team and the staff for a well executed game plan. We all knew it wouldn't be a 42 pt. blow out again and I'm happy to settle for a W. Kibbke dome is not a fun place to play with all that open space.
Again, congratulations Griz...........

Yep, a good win against a team you know was gunning for the Griz after the blowout in Missoula.

Still, I'd like to see some more consistency, particularly on outside shooting. I'm convinced if we can get some shots to fall from out there, this is going to be a scary good team. Until then, every game will be a battle.

Got some numbers. Qvale 6pnts 6rebs 1blk, Cherry 14pnts 6rebs 6asst 3stl (player of game), Jamar 17pnts 3rebs, Ward 12pnts 3rebs, 45%FG, 40%3pnt, 78%ft, 16to, and out rebounded only by 2 27-25(thought it was worse than that), and a wopping 922 people in the stands! Selvig 9pnts 0rebs 1ast and the GAME WINNER!!!! I was really suprised that we shot 40% from the outside, I thought it was worse than that. Idaho played good interior defense, and moved the ball well against our zone. They played a good game!

Also want to say Tinkle made some good moves. Our bread and butter is our 2-3 matchup zone(its nasty good), but Idaho handled it just right. Tinks was patiant, and stayed with it until the last couple minutes, and then switched to man and it caused Idaho fits the last couple of trips down the floor. It was timed perfect and Idaho was not ready for it!

Dub. After seeing Wood up close this year, he can be frustrating shooting from outside, but he makes up for it on Defense and his ability to create in the lane. That's how I feel about it right now. His outside shots Vs. the Beavers were UGLY. It wasn't even like he was close and it just didn't bounce his way, he was WAY off for most of his shots.

What a game. Not only did we win, but good things happened. We hit FT's to put us in position. We got scoring from role players, great job Ward and Jamar. We hit a winning shot on the road. That is what OOC play is for. Great W!!!

Is Wood as much of a train wreak as everyone seems to make him out to be, or are people just over reacting?

I have been a big fan of wood this season, and I have been waiting, waiting, and waiting for him to put something together. Hopefully, he can get it together, and the griz need need him to get it together very soon. If he made those 2 free throws in the last few seconds it would have been game over.

Wood is pretty damn good at taking it to the hole, and if he cant just get somewhat consistent at the 3 ball, we are going to have a great team. For a while I thought Selvig was the x-factor (or what ever you wanna call it) in the line-up, but now I am leaning to Wood......He's gotta step it up!

Wow. Just...wow.

And this is the big, wonderful WAC, where things would "definitely" have been better for Griz basketball?
Sorry, just couldn't resist.

Yeah that attendence is horrible, not even a week night game! Sat night Moscow, old rival, and nothing else to do in that town! WOW!!!

The reason the WAC is better for BB is because they routinely get more than one team in the NCAAs, if fact, they ALWAYS get at least two teams in the NCAAs. They also always get teams in with seeds lower than 10. Have the Griz EVER had lower than a 10?

Every school in the country is on winter break, attendance is going to be low at every BB game.

The WAC is better than the Big Sky for BB by every conceivable measure.

Not even remotely close to being true!

Hope those 922 Vandal fans still believe they are too good to be in the Big Sky.

Weber played an NAIA last night and still managed close to 5,000
