MBBALL GRIZ v weebs Gameday

Better second half. We played lock down defense and despite a poor shooting night, we made enough shots to pull away and offset our shitty first half. Huge night for Moore and Sawyer. They were seemingly the only 2 that could do anything offensively.

Griz now have sole possession of first place and now have a week off before the Brawl in Bozeman. Cats have been good at home so this will be a tall task. Guys need to lock in as we’re now the hunted!

…win out…
…win in boise…
…# 12 seed…

😎..
A nice thought, but don't hold your breath. The "experts" are talking about 10-15 teams from the biggies (SEC, B-12, B-10, especially). Sadly, the Big Sky is down this year even from its usual dismal strength ... from 14-18 in past years to 22-26 this year. The conference tourney winner can probably avoid a play-in game, but I just do not see anything above a #14 seed ... and even that might be a stretch.

Weber is short handed therefore playing stall ball. Griz not accustomed to the slow pace of play. Therefore it’s taking them out of their play fast mode and it took them awhile to adjust.
This team, the Griz are good. I hope they get a chance to show it on the national stage.
Two of the next 4 games are going to be tough. MSU & PSU tough while SSU and EWU are very winnable. But like they say, “it ain’t over till the fat lady sings”.

#14 or 15 if we make it to the dance. Big Sky is such a shitty conference.
Nice win tonight. Very small crowd for a Saturday night, especially against Weber
Don't know how accurate ESPN's Bracketology is, but they have the Big Sky (N Colo.) at a #14 seed. Of course the fact they've had UNC as the winner for a couple weeks, should tell you a little about the effort put into the product.

FWIW, ESPN has finally gotten NoColo's record(s) straightened out. :D

Best ball movement / extra passes by a TDC coached team since when? Maybe the best he’s ever had?
I would say yes. He always preaches it and most of his teams have attempted it. They just haven't all been great at it. In the past the extra pass often felt forced and the resulting shot wasn't always improved.

With this team -- almost without fail -- if you see another pass you know it's going to result in a better shot opportunity.

Of course, it doesn't hurt this team has six or seven guys who can reliably fill it. That hasn't always been the case. In the past, sometimes the next pass got a better shot, but taken by a lesser shooter. This team doesn't have any of those

I really like the way this team is playing. I guess I’m just echoing what many other posters are saying.
I’m both excited and nervous about the tournament in Boise. I’d like to go but I need several things to come together. Party with where the end the season. Two really tough road games coming up. PSU and MSU. PSU scares me more than the cats because they are so athletic. MSU on the other hand with their crowd could really bother us. We will not have faced such a nasty crowd this year. That coupled with our new players first time at the field house and the depth perception in that stockyard makes for difficult sight lines. I hope the teams get enough practice time.

I expect the cats to take the air out of the ball, much like Weber did in Missoula last Saturday. I feel the only team that can run with us would be Portland. I think we’ll see two contrasting styles of play for the next two games. Slow by the cats and uptempo by the Vikings. Of course I’ve been wrong before.
