GRIZ v. NoCo Gamethread

The streak remains.. good win Griz. A little over 4000 att tonight. Good game Hutch, Weisner, and Jamar. Good D, poor ft%, and horrible passing and ball handling, very lethargic lately. Got to be way more crisp passing the ball, but its another great win!
 
Hopefully they got the bad freethrow game out of the way. Not the usual Griz tonight but a W is all you want no matter how you get there.

That was an ugly win. I would like to believe that we are a good team, but that game made me feel otherwise. Once and if we get out of the Big Sky competition we may be very average. I have my doubts about the Weber and Davidson games.

Good thing we defended, cause we weren't good offensively.

3 balls were key, and we gave them some easy ones. But our guys were focused on that, especially in the 2nd half. Figured they'd out board us because we were defending 3s.

Will and KJ were great. But we missed some layups and some FTs

We'll take a 10 point win when we're not at our best.

Hutch was key. We were putting him in late for boarding and D. Super proud of him and his focus.

All 8 guys had a key contribution. Super proud of our bench for giving us minutes. Other guys who didn't play will be fresh.

We knew unc would be ready to play and they ahve pride, wanting to end the streak. Proud of our guys to take their blow and still win when not at our best.

44 year record that our name will now be on. PRetty amazing with today's talent and parity. Pretty amazing for our group. OUr run 13-0 is pretty impressive. But that's not our goal. We know what that is and we'll still focused on that. No cartwheels in the locker room. Weve got a good ND team coming in.

Happy we've clinched a spot in the tournament this early, but we know what spot we want in the tournament.

Let's go get a good ND team!!!

Frankly, I LOVE that the expectations are so high for this team that we're dissatisified with that!!
 
Mick mentioned that President Engstrom waited courtside to congratulate Wayne.

I know many don't like him. ANd I know many think he's anti-athletics. But from what I've seen from him (and especially his wife Mary!) nothing could be further from the truth. I can't even imagine King George walking into Adams Center, say nothing about waiting around 15 minutes after the game to congratulate the head coach.

Damn good team when an off night is winning by 10 and still shooting 50% from the field. Way too many stupid turnovers though. I remember a few years ago, that was a good night for the GRIZ . This team is very talented. Hutchison is doing a nice job defending and helping with rebounding. We don't offense from him.

lady cats lose.

cats give up (no, not kidding) 33 points in the game's final 10 minutes. At the 9:52 mark, they led 57-49. They then went to the 4:38 mark scoring only 2. And they ended up losing 82-73. Ouch.
 
People who are disappointed baffle me. It's COLLEGE BASKETBALL. It's a huge, long, grind, and no team, not Duke, not the UCLA Dynasty Teams, not Michael Jordan's Carolina teams nor Patrick Ewing's Georgetown teams will or did play well EVERY NIGHT for 32 games straight. Not gonna happen, even in the sh--ty Big Sky. A win is a win in college hoops and a win by double digits is a GOOD WIN! EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.

As for Everett's comments on Rolls Royce, I personally do not think he's anit-athletics, just anti Griz football. Anyone who is insane enough to believe they had the power to suspend an NCAA DI football program for a season is, first off insane and living in some alternate universe, and secondly, would have a hard-time convincing me they are Pro-Griz FB. And BTW, I saw Dennison at many BB games back in the day.

I love baffling people. The team we just played is 4-9 in Big Sky, 6-15 overall, and 1-11 away from home. I am DISAPPOINTED. Sorry.
