Griz v. Cats Running Backs

Bzzzzzzzt. Nope. Of course I look at strength of schedule. I follow FCS very closely, probably too much. I know what's going on with all the top teams. MSU is really good this year, and I mean really good. You'll find out.

You don’t understand football. Your posts over the years have shown that. You’re saying the Cats are really good is meaningless. You are the one who will find out.

Sure, and we all know you're the football guru around here. Troy Andersen isn't very fast and won't get drafted high. Black Jesus is a bit of a pussy. griz OLis better than the Cats OL. That griz OL guy didn't stand around and watch his QB get murdered. Sometimes good kids get caught up in date rape..... etc.

Ha ha. No, fortunately Cats have at least six RBs that would probably be starting for the griz. Who leads the nation in rushing yards? MSU Bobcats. Who leads the nation in points scores because of the dominant rushing attack? MSU Bobcats. All of this after losing the top three projected RBs - Ifanse, Williams, and Lane Sumner. Sounds like Sumner, RB1 to start the season but injured in the first game, is coming back soon. You'll get to see it all play our soon enough, live and in person when the Cats run all over the griz, AGAIN.
Last time in Missoula it was the cats that got run all over. We'll go for that AGAIN.

I'm sure you would. But remember, Matt McKay ain't walking out of that tunnel this time.

The Griz were that good in the first half. Almost every knowledgeable and unbiased person who watched the first half would say that. Same with the running backs. Most knowledgeable and unbiased people wouldn't say the Cats' running backs.

As others have noted, some Cat fans are so arrogant that they are blinded to making a fair judgement of their team. "The Griz stink; Cats are all-world, as are all of their players." You are a prime example of that.

This comment... from you... it's just so pure.

Hoops, I gotta ask, because it just doesn’t make sense to me. I guess, perhaps, a sign that I am dumb.

You say the Griz are better at most positions than MSU. You think the Griz coaches are better than what MSU has. So why, are they succeeding so much more than the Griz? If the talent is better, and the coaching is better, why isn’t the end result better? And don’t give me injuries. Every team has injuries.

Sorry, third post, aren't you the guy who said that one bobcat pervert was okay because his sexual assault on a high school kid was above the pants? If I'm wrong I'll stop posting this but it seems like you might have said that?

Where did I say the Griz were better than the Cats at most positions? Was I responding to a troll. Give me the quote or quotes.

The Griz are better than the Cats at running back, receiver and linebacker. The Cats are better and deeper at QB. The Cat o-line has been playing much better than the Griz o-line this year, but the Griz o-line has played much better n recent games. Look at my long post comparing the 2 teams. That's what I think. I don't know about the other positions because I don't know those other Cat position groups.

The Griz coaches are very good. I don't believe for a second that the Cat coaches are better. They aren't.

Injuries are very important, especially at QB. So, I will give you injuries. Just like the 49ers were screwed last year in the playoffs. Don't give me BS that that that injury didn't kill the 49ers. Johnson was out for 2 critical road games, and then played most of the last half of the season with a torn ACL. That severely hampered him, and the Griz. Yes, we didn't have a backup. I understand that. UM was a semifinal team last season with a healthy Johnson.

If you don't think injuries are important to the game of football, especially to critical positions and top players, then you truly don't understand the game of football, or sport.

  A lot of them are definitely the youngest kid who acted like he loved sitting in the middle of the backseat with his feet on the hump.

What I would have given to be the kid in the middle on the hump. You know how much exhaust comes in the “luggage” area of a ‘68 Chrysler wagon? I was proud to get to St regis without a stop. The s curves to the pass were not in the realm of possibility without a stop.

And I was a middle kid.

Hahaha! Were those the ones with the rear-facing seats in the back? If so, you had it easy. I once rode in the luggage compartment of a 1992 Chevy Tahoe all the way to West Edmonton Mall. No seats; just, “Lay down and shut up.” It was borderline human trafficking.

I said I didn't think Anderson had elite speed. I was surprised that he ran his 40 so far. I never said he wasn't very fast. Stop lying. I didn't think Anderson would be drafted in the top 2 rounds. He barely made the 2d round. Good for him. Again, stop lying. I never said the Griz o-line was better than the Cat o-line. Stop lying. Griz qb didn't get murdered, nor was anyone standing around watching him get murdered. No. 61 was completely out of the play and far from the qb, and walked. No. 61 had a great game last week. Of the 100 times I have commented on legal things, I have been right 99 times. More so than anyone posting on egriz.

Okay, where have I not made a fair judgment of the Griz due to arrogance? Don’t make up anything. Only serious views of mine. Edit: see my long discussion of Griz and Cat positions and my discussion of better Griz positions in the past couple days.

Where did you hear about the ACL on Johnson? You’re saying torn, which would imply a complete tear. Did you mean a grade 1 or 2 instead?

It was a different ligament. Maybe the ICL. (Typo or autocorrect.) It wasn’t a complete tear. Forbes, the center, told me. He brought it up when we were discussing the season and Johnson. He said only the team knew it. He said it significantly affected Johnson’s play later in the season. I have previously posted this. Forbes is a very nice kid.

Who is he? As in the he who told you.

There’s also no such thing as an ICL in your knee. That doesn’t exist.

Bunch of nonsense. msu has yet to play a team with a winning record with a good run defense. The one they have played they had a “good loss”. So building stats against teams like UT Tech, Stetson, Cal Poly, and Portland State are mute at best. Verdicts still out on Weber. Montana has two good quality road wins against two ranked teams . Both teams have one loss…after tonight will msu be 6-1 or 5-2?

Go Griz!

Read my completed post. Forbes, the Griz center. Not ACL. PCL? Maybe LCL.

You mean the weak competition to date doesn’t make the Cats all-world? And maybe Gilman wouldn’t be the Cats’’ no 6 back? And maybe more than 2 Griz could start for Cats? And maybe Griz don’t stink? And maybe this isn’t worst Griz team in modern history? And maybe 6-1 start and best start in over a decade is okay?

My mistake. I forgot that you're known far and wide across the vast landscape of Montana football internet culture as the paragon of objectivity and rational assessment. Hahaha!

This isn't some mystery deriving from a small sample size. The Cats have been running the ball at an insanely effective level for a season and a half. They averaged 311 yards rushing per game last year. They're averaging 325 this year.

It's OK. If you admit that the Cats are great at something, the earth will keep turning... gravity will continue to keep us planted firmly on the ground... Bobby's nose will remain so beautifully hooked that he can still snort his coffee straight out of the mug.

Has any Griz fan said the Cats don’t have a very good running game? Some Griz fans are just questioning stats gotten against good teams. And some don’t agree that the Cat team and backs are all-world. You really are a straw man poster.
