Griz v. Cats Game Thread

My guss is that Tinks was asking them to go to the video to check to see who the foul was on, which they should have done. After spending 10 minutes reviewing it determine if Weisner's foul was intentional (basically a judgement call), the certainly should have reviewed it to definitively find out who was whistled. But, as usual, the bsc guys got it wrong....

Yeah you guys have bounced back from the 24 point beatdown we gave you.

I could go there about the championship last year, and how we won by a rather large margin, and sarcastically say you guys bounced back well this year. But I'd never do that! I'm a nice guy

Can someone tell me what happened on the in bounds play involving Hutch that was a turn over? I was getting a beverage and only caught parts of what happened thanks

I actually was trying to put nicer than I did. I was tired when I wrote that. I don't see you losing any more regular season games. I think you will be hosting the tourny. I hope I am wrong but I don't see SUU winning.

I remember a few years back. The roles were reversed. The GRIZ needed help, and got it. All be damned if we did not choke to EWU to lose out on the right to host. We also dropped another game that year we had no business losing.

I have extra motivation for the GRIZ to host this year. I have vacation time approved for the week. I can afford to get back home for the Conference tournament. Cannot afford to go elsewhere for the tournament or NCAA's.

From what I saw Hutchison threw the ball back to Kareem, who was out of bounds at the time, thinking, evidently, for Kareem to in-bound the ball. This in place of Hutchison throwing the ball back to the referee for the ref to give the ball over to Kareem to start the game clock, or something like that. Even though, if not mistaken, isn't the clock still running even if the ball is being inbounded?..at least until the last two minutes of the game or there is a timeout beforehand? Anyways, it happened pretty quickly but that's what appeared to be the case.

So, essentially, it's like as if Hutchison threw the ball out-of-bounds when he tossed it to Kareem. :shock:

The referee didn't like that somewhat.

One big question I have is why did Jamar only get 1 free throw at the end? The play by play shows him missing 2 free throws, but he only took 1.

I recorded the game and watched that part a couple of times. Jamar was clearly going for the shot when he was fouled, and you can see Tinkle talking to the ref signalling 2 shots, and then holding up 2 again and nodding his head. Kind of odd... didn't matter, but still kind of odd and would have sucked if that full court shot had gone in to tie it when the refs had Jamar shoot a 1 and 1 instead of 2 FTs like he should have..

I "think" what happened was that the official signaled the wrong # free throws. From where I was sitting, Jamar was fouled a few steps before he began his drive to the bucket. At the time, I "think" the Griz were in the 1nd1 bonus and NOT the double bonus. Then, when Jamar missed the free throw, the play clock never started (probably because the official signaled 2 fingers to the scorer's table rather than the proper 1nd1), the officials were then reviewing/deciding if all the time would have expired. I will say though, that there was weird stuff with the play clock and shot clock during the mens and ladies game. I really dunno how much of it was on the refs, or just some homecooking shot clock shenanigans.
