GRIZ v. bengals Gamethread

How did weber lose to these guys? ISU is who we thought they were. They suck just like the rest of this conf except weber and um.

I like we got a quick dose of what Henderson can do. He looked damn good out there. Too bad, Weisner is still hurt. I hope he gets healthy, and we get Reader back too. Great overall game from the GRIZ tonight. Selvig did not score a lot, but it was sure fun watching him dish, and get some decisive blocks.

Cherry was not allow for letdown by himself, or this team tonight. Sensational game from him on both ends of the court as well.

Now a quick road trip to UNC and Sac State. I will be at the unc game.

ISU cut the lead to 4 with 18:00 to go in the 2nd half. And then....

WHHHHHHAAAAAAAMMMMMMOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! I'm not sure the bungles scored 8 points after that.

And as SW02 said, how the eff did weeeeeebs lose to these guys?? I sure as hell hope we get them in the semis of the tournament. They simply cannot play with the Griz.

Did I hear correctly from the gogriz lads that contrary to earlier news UM's bracket buster is set for ESPN?

They did say ESPN, but I think that just means it will be streamed on ESPNU, if at all.

Man, that is a HUGE win. As I posted earlier this week, that win gives the Griz a ton of breathing room on this road trip. They can (although of course they don't want to!!) get away with a 1-1 trip and still be in fantastic shape.

Ok, get through the road-trip unscathed against cellar-dwellers Sac and UNC and then @ home against NAU to set up the last two games against MSU and WSU... should be a fun final stretch.

Terrific team effort and win. Cherry was outstanding, in only 25 minutes. Foul trouble, and then subs played the last 5 or 6 minutes. 21 points and 3 steals, in 8-10 shooting. Selvig had 8 assists, 6 blocks, 5 points and 4 rebounds. Steward had 14 points in 7-9 shooting and 5 rebounds. Solid play and defense by Stockton and Woods. Nice play by the 3 young guards. 2 assists by DeShields and 7 points in 2-3 pt-shooting by Henderson.

The score would have been 85-30 with less bad or marginal calls by the refs. Ida St made a few nice plays and shots, but they shot horribly and didn't look very good. Good defense by the Griz.

UM is a very good team with nice depth, and fun to watch. Everyone defends and plays hard. Could use better depth in the big men, but Steward and Jamar play big.

The game was a bit disjointed, which probably affected the crowd, but I agree the fairly large crowd was fairly quiet.

Cherry will probably pass Qvale in career scoring in the next game. He's on pace to come close to the UM top 5 in career scoring.

Cherry holding McGowen to 9 is great... no doubt this guy is the best defensive player in the conference. 40 points for ISU, that is unreal. Kudos to the Griz for a great game.

Night after night as I watch Griz games, I think to myself about their opponents: "Man, these guys are awful shooters". But then I watch them a few nights later just light someone up. Give a TON of credit to Montana's defense for making good shooting teams look flat-out silly at times.
