Griz to play U of Washington

Hard to say since it is several years away, but of we manage to not get slammed by the NCAA & we produce a true Montana Grizzly team, we should put up more of a fight than the average "body bag" team.

I believe the EWU game was the first time that UW has ever played a team in the FCS. There were only a couple of FBS teams that had not played an FCS team. Eastern did a nice job last year and damn near came out with a win. Hope they can get it done this year at WSU.
 
Azfan, I was referring to the travel distance and the payout. Payout at UDub is less but so is the distance traveled.....maybe a wash. Yes, I did watch the Eag game. Eags played well, Griz may have won it.

Given the "new" emphasis on strenght of schedule in the "new" playoff scenario down the road I don't see this game happening.

If schedule is a factor for the 4 team playoff in a couple of years this ain't happening. Quit dreaming, dudes. :shock:

If Mick's contract plays out, the '17 Griz will probably be in the third year of a new coach's tenure with a Sr. Class of this year's redshirts. Hopefully the money allows UM to set up a regular season home and home with an FCS powerhouse.
 
I think the U Huskies is a much better place to play than WSU. By 2016-1017 WSU will be smokin the Huskies and we all know very few people of importance attend WSU games. Actually I mean total fans and fans in areas that we recruit from. Mike Leach will have WSU in the top rungs of the pac 12 by next season. Yes we get kids from Spokane but many more are located on the West Coast.

I'm inclined to agree. Wsu is going to be competitive again very soon.

UW has a long, long way to go to be worried about a top 4 playoff scenario.

This game was scheduled either last year or the year before. I had known about it for a while however I think it is just now becoming official. This is the work of Jim O'Day.

Wait a minute... you're telling me the Griz don't make more by staying at home and that WaGriz isn't a national stage? Wow... and all these years I've been believing every word I read on eGriz! ;)



j/k I think it's awesome matchup. I'm still pissed that the Cats backed out of the curbstomping at Oregon this year. I'm not an advocate of playing up every year, but it is fun once in a while. And... you can't knock off the big guys if you're never given the opportunity.

I agree . . . IMO a schedule without an FBS is lacking. Now, UNI's schedule (IA & WI) is a little silly, but you got to love testing the squad against the upper tier.
 
As most people on this board know, I see no reason for UM to ever play an FBS team (or a Div. II team, for that matter). UM is an FCS school, and an all-FCS schedule suits me just fine.
