Griz to host Mississippi Valley State on October 8th

Ivy games have been on the table before, but never got the deal done for some reason or another. 2017-18 deal with Maine could be in the works

Hopefully they will be back on the table again. Maybe Stitt and get it done using his connections. Precedent has been set: http://espn.go.com/college-football/game?gameId=332780013

11 division 1 games, I like it.

Absolutely. Ideally the bye week would be later in the season but keeping it all D1 is huge. :ugeek:
Ideally it would not be the week before Cal Poly, but I might be a little biased.

All the games are counters for the playoffs...that is most important. I don't really care if MVSU is worse than Central Washington, playing CWU, Adams State, Panhandle St, does not help for playoff wins. Give me an all FCS schedule every year! Would rather pay the stupid OOC ticket price to see Mississippi Valley than Panhandle St any day

The one thing I don't necessarily like about this schedule is the bye week is September 17, after only two games having been played. That is going to be a long slog the rest of the season after that.

Two weeks for the defense to prepare for Poly isn't a bad thing based on our recent history.

I partially agree with Glendive's comment. More importantly, the Cal Poly QB Chris Brown was a senior and used up all his eligibility. It is the QB that is critically important. Cal Poly's HC Tim Walsh does not have an impressive successful win-loss record against UM, but the QB Chris Brown had success the last two years. It was the same thing with Ash, and we should attribute any success at MSU to QB Denarius. Same thing with QB Travis Lulay at MSU. It is the Same correlation to the QB play at EWU.

Remember the cup cake East Tennessee State MSU played last year?

Remember all the crap that was shoveled over that?

Yeah

:coffee:

Remember how that was one of your very few wins?

Yeah

At least we do not have to guard Jerry Rice. Great addition to the schedule and way to go Kent and staff for putting that schedule together! Excellent job!  :thumb: :thumb:

9/3/2016 Saint Francis Missoula, Mont.
9/10/2016 Northern Iowa Cedar Falls, Iowa
9/24/2016 Cal Poly * San Luis Obispo, Calif. TB
10/1/2016 Southern Utah * Missoula, Mont. Homecoming
10/8/2016 Mississippi Valley State Missoula, Mont.
10/15/2016 Sacramento State * Missoula, Mont.
10/22/2016 Northern Arizona * Flagstaff, Ariz.
10/29/2016 Eastern Washington * Cheney, Wash.
11/5/2016 Idaho State * Missoula, Mont.
11/12/2016 Northern Colorado * Greeley, Colo.
11/19/2016 Montana State * Missoula, Mont.

Well, looks like my only two choices (since there's no WAY I'm going to the meth capital of the world) are another away game at CP (to see my brother SloStang) or getting to Missoula on the 19th of November to see my first Brawl in person--ever.

And remember how it was ETSU's first season on the football field since 2003?

Yeah.

But whatever makes Cat fans feel better I guess.

BTW: Out of curiosity, I checked the past MVSU records. They really are really bad. :) Their "heyday," in this century was back in 2006, 2005 when they had back-to-back ... wait for it  ... 6-5 seasons. Since then, they've gone 20-78, never winning more than 3 games in a season. So they've been really bad for a long time. (They were very good, of course, back when Rice was there.)

Griz fans can't give us crap anymore about scheduling weak teams. They have NAIA St. Francis and 1-10 Mississippi Valley State for 2016.

At least do some research so you don't embarrass yourself!

Lonesomecats? One can't blame them for sneaking on our board. It is the only wind they get!

By the way Kent did a good job with our schedule.

Yeah, what's really funny about that is that they play in the same conference as (and finished ahead of) Bryant, who the cats play.

Nice job on scheduling you're own ETSU.

They'd beat etsu by 4 touches.

And of course, we're playing an all DI schedule, unlike the pity kitties (again!!). But I suspect you probably knew that and just wish to troll. The thing is, though: you really suck at it.
