Griz to Finish 3rd in Big Sky

Great thread guys. Here's what I've learned so far:

1. Playing in 38 straight games (except garbage time) is not indicative of durability. Is the inverse true? If a player misses time on the field he is then considered durable?

2. McGhee is a bad QB and would have been benched by now if he was a grizz. I guess the grizz prefer the likes of S-H and McK over the 2 time BSC Offensive MVP?

3. McGhee is a pussy because he avoids contact and thinking anything different means I am ignorant and unknowledgeable. I guess I'll take the latter. Elusiveness and slipperiness isn't something that's easily taught, but apparently to the football wizards on this board it's a sign of being a pussy. (this one is truly my favorite  )

1. You didn't learn that from me. Playing in 38 straight games is an indication of durability--a good indication. It may also reflect that the player avoids contact, either at the direction of the coaches or because he's a bit of a pussy.

2. You didn't learn that from me. I like McGhee and have consistently praised him, altho occasionally pointed out possible negatives.

3. If you believe that durability proves that a qb isn't a bit of a pussy, then you are not knowledgeable about football. Pussy's can be durable if they avoid contact or act like a pussy. Note that the ignorance discussion was started by a Cat poster. I just responded in kind.

4. If you want to refute a question about why he isn't a pussy, tell us about all the contact he's had, how he's picked up first downs by putting his head down and running through defenders, how he's finished off runs, how few times he's slid, tell us how many times he stands in the pocket and waits to release the ball at the last moment in order to allow time for receivers to break open etc. You watch him much more than I have. Show how my question/observation is not accurate. Don't tell me he's durable as your main argument.

On the flip side, show ME how many times he's slid, how many times he has avoided a hit, how many times he has ran out of bounds, how many times he has left the pocket earlier than he should have, or whatever else you consider being a pussy. Better yet, show me how any of these has affected his team. If he ran out of bounds to avoid a hit, did it cost him a first down?

You can't request someone back up their defense claims if your claims have no substance either.

I'm sorry but McGhee isn't the best passer/QB in the history of the FCS, or even the Sky (though he will likely own many conference records when he is done), but calling him a pussy is an insult and unfounded. He has literally won games for the Cats by himself late in games. Hell I remember in Cat/Griz last year McGhee diving into 3 Griz players for a first down (and got the first down). Classic pussy move.

Maybe if McGhee had a shit brown zip up sweater and a comb-over he'd look like less of a pussy. Maybe he should hire an attorney to settle the argument. :coffee:

I've seen McGhee do those things you mention on multiple occasions. It made me wonder how tough he is. I brought up the pussy subject after I saw a poster saying he was going to run more in the offense. The only responses was Cat posters so far is that he's durable, and now you asking how many times he's done those things you mention. I would think you Cat posters would be able to mount a better defense than what you've offered so far. Until I see a good defense from some Cat posters or see him act tougher on the field, I will continue to wonder if he's a bit of a pussy. Perhaps we'll see how tough he is this year; perhaps we won't.

2nd string quarterbacks are especially popular in Missoula. Don't fool yourselves by making fun of Cat fans for talking up Prukop. There are countless Griz fans who hope and expect MSU to take a step back when McGhee finishes his career, but what if they are wrong? What if Rob Ash has actually built a program that can sustain itself with cultivating young talent? It isn't unheard of to have an FCS program other than Montana have repeated success.

Until I see more examples and better facts than "I've seen him be a pussy", I am not going to waste time refuting your claims. You're a lawyer - where does the burden of proof lie?

Agreed. Cap'n Jack has vaulted himself into Global Master Troll. Who would have thought a lawyer would be so interesting?

pr was resting easy knowing there's very little video out there on f.c.s. players, let alone mcghee to refute his claim, but i think this clip tells you a lot about pr's lack of knowledge about football in general and mcghee specifically. pr isn't qualified to make a statement on any players toughness. go to the :20 mark of this. head first into four of our defenders. apparently pr had given up on us by then. either that or he didn't think we'd win so he didn't go. what's your excuse now pr?

Ha! I thought the same thing. In fact, what I actually said to myself was, "The only thing missing to make this thread complete would be a couple of posts from jerrypunchdrunk. And lo and behold!!

An instant classic to be sure.

EVERY team is convinced their "QB in waiting" is the 2nd coming of Christ. Very few actually turn out that way....The odds of Prukob being average are much higher than him being better than DM.

That mostly just comes from the mega-homer dumbasses. Like SE talking about EWU receivers or 2506 talking about their 3rd string QB. People who can't recognize once in a generation player(s)

So let me get this straight. Not only is DM a pussy that’s afraid to take a hit… but he’s SLOW as well? Another griz poster already debunked the pussy myth with that video showing DM diving head first into four griz defenders to pick up a first down. Regarding the slow comment… according to an NFL Scouting service, his timed 4.54 40 helped to put him at the #13 rated QB overall, #1 in FCS, and his 40 time was only second to Martinez from Nebraska QB who ran a 4.42. This is out of 50 timed QB’s.

Wow… some of you mouth breathers take dUMb to an entirely different level.

Pussy or not. Delerious Macgee has quite a few kids attending msu that think he is a jerk. Not all that well liked on and off the field.

Me? I do not know the guy and to me he seems like a decent QB. He can run and pass. Can't seem to win the big games. One of the many Texas imports that finally got msu into the win bracket.

The many scat posters on our site should go back to drinking kool first aid. They know the number one ranking is over rating them so they come to the good site to pee and moan -- bitch and whine.
