Hmm. Well considering we've been co-champs three years running, I'd say we've earned the Big Sky hype? Pretty hard to be overrated when you are picked to finish first and finish tied for first...
Possibly because you are continually overmatched in the playoffs. Not a real kudo for the BSC.

Well if the BSC doesn't like it, maybe more than one of you guys should beat us in a season, eh? Keep us out of the playoffs then!
Thats the plan for this year.

The Griz were basically 1 measily coaches vote away from being picked second in the league, and after a losing season mind you!

This tells you that the coaches know why the Griz dropped those close games last year, and know that getting our national semi-final QB back will remedy those close loses in 2013!
no, it basically doesn't. we were 19 points behind the eags. 130-111. you'd have to take one of their first place votes and give it us and then drop them to last and they'd still be ahead of us. poly was just two points behind us and n.a.u. was just seven back. 111-109-104. the coaches were a lot closer to picking us fifth than they were to picking us second. same is true in the media poll.

Easy killer. I only took first place votes into account...

Wow people… some of the posts I see on here are absolute head scratchers. Many of the posters on here get it, and give DM his proper respect for what he’s done for the program. Comments like, “He’s not flashy, or not that good, or doesn’t have “It” like Lulay did? Really? DM absolutely has “It”, in fact… his ability to pull out miracles and do whatever it takes to win is probably his greatest asset, in addition to his pure ability. “Can’t win the big games?” They’re all big, especially in the Big Sky… and all he’s done is won here since taking over. 9-3, 10-3, and 11-2 last year. Some of the losses have been to FBS schools, and we should have beaten WSU (A rare coaching mistake by Ash). That’s 30 wins in three seasons. Three Big Sky Titles, three trips to the playoffs, two playoff wins (Likely would be 5 playoff wins, but we’ve been good enough over the past three years to earn first round byes), two wins over the griz IN Missoula… two wins over EWU including a 30 to 7 thumping the year they won the National Championship… etc.

We’ve lost playoff games against two teams… SHSU and NDSU. That’s not because Ash or DM have any problem “winning the big games”… it’s been because those two teams were just flat out better than us, any way you cut it. As you guys know, but maybe have forgotten, it takes more than a good team to make the title game. It takes some luck along the way.

All this “Choke in the playoffs” talk is unwarranted and stupid, as most of you know.

I agree with much of what you've said, but you're leaving out what (to me) is a critical piece of the puzzle. It's not so much THAT you lost, it's HOW you lost. In all the games in question, when they get behind the 'scats seem to QUIT. THAT is the conundrum: Good enough to get into the playoffs, but overmatched (mentally) once they get there. Perhaps you all should depend a little less on 'luck' and go hire a sport psychologist to figure out why your team tucks its tail and heads for the barn at the first sign of adversity in the playoffs?

I'm sure Bobby Hauck has a good one....

Man, there sure are a lot of cat fans on e-griz lately. I'm gonna swing by bobcat nation and try to find out why. Be right back.

edit. OK, I PM'd the alexa bot, bing bot and google bot. I'll let you all know what I find out.

Like I said: LOSING and QUITTING are two different things. Show me a BH team that got blown out after the first sign of adversity in the playoffs. Go ahead, I'll wait.

Probably agree to disagree then, because I don't think I've ever seen an Ash led Bobcat team give up. I think it's more of the other team catching some breaks, getting the momentum, and basically steamrolling you. maybe due to fatigue, not being strong enough, whatever. FYI, I think both SHSU and NDSU would have "ROLLED" the griz last year as well, but not for lack of heart in the griz players.

Ha Ha! LBJ's TWO playoff wins that you are touting were chock full of LUCK and still incredibly embarrasing. You beat Stony Brook by 6, a team in the playoffs for only its second time ever. And you beat NH on a LUCKY fluke: a doinked PAT no less! I'll never forget Coach Wet Noodle's postgame interview where he basically said he was praying that they'd miss it so he didn't have to face them in OT. Great show of confidence, coach!

And once again... you couldn't even GET THERE last year, so what's that saying? That's worse than me saying, "Well I don't care that our B-Ball team didn't make the NCAA Tourney... look how bad the griz sucked it up once they made it to the playoff... they got destroyed!!! Man they suck!"

Then you obviously never watched the 2011 SHSU game. I've never seen a playoff team give up in such an embarrasing fashion. Hell i even remember some scat folks admitting they gave up in that game.

Go back and watch the NDSU game and the SHSU games and tell me with a straight face the 'scats didn't give up.

If you can do THAT, then you should be a politician.

Are you kidding? Unwarranted? The scats get blown out everytime they make the playoffs.
2010: Lost to NDSU 42-17
2011: Lost to SHSU 49-13 ( I lost $50---FTC)
2012: Lost to SHSU 34-16
They can't seem to put up over 17 points against "high octane" teams in the playoffs. Choke? Yes, BIG Choke.
The Griz only lost to SHSU by 3 points. (31-28) but we all know the Griz can show up in the playoffs. The Can'ts can't. FTC

Cal Poly had 4 turnovers and a blocked punt for a safety and still only lost by 2 to SHSU on the road (18-16) in last year's 2nd round.

Yeah, that was a good game!! Cal Poly has my pick to win the BSC. The Grizzlies are my team but I'm looking at the big picture. Cal Poly stands alone Possibly Undefeated in 2013 in the BSC. That's my prediction...

Good point slostang. cat fans try to portray SHS as some unbeatable super-team but their only blowout wins in the playoffs seem to come against the cats. Hmmm.

Agreed. And probably worried that a loss against NDSU could hurt them really bad. I know, they claim money was the key factor but to drop a big game like that??...Wth. I thought maybe the cants were gonna try to prove something... oh wait, they did...
