GRIZ/SUU game thread

Griz hang on. Gotta work on hitting free-throws at the end of games, and closing them out. Got away with the W, but it really shouldn't have been that close.

Ugly W's count just the same. Very fortunate to have won this game. FT shooting almost lost the game. Gregory could not hit them down the stretch.

Coming up next for the Griz are two pretty good teams...Portland State and Sacto State...They cannot play there like they did in Missoula, tonight.

Breunig fouls out. Of his 5 fouls, maybe 3 were actual fouls.
In contrast, the SUU big men were allowed to administer multiple beatings underneath with impunity. The officiating tonight, was crappy. On a happier note, very nice game tonight by Riley Bradshaw!

For tonight at least, I'd rather be us than Weber State.

Nice to have four guys in double figures, especially Bradshaw. But no points from Gfeller and Krslovic hurts.

Has there ever been a foul called on the Griz this year that you thought was correct?

From reading your posts this year, you seem to be bitching every game about fouls.

At least one foul on Breunig was simply bizarre.

Junior forward Martin Breunig and Gregory each scored a game-high 15 points, while Dunn added 14, and sophomore guard Riley Bradshaw had a career-high 10 points. Dunn led UM with 7 rebounds, while Breunig hauled down 6. Breunig was in foul trouble most of the game and fouled out with 2:04 left to play, and logged just 23 minutes.

"We need to do a better job of finding guys like Riley Bradshaw and Brandon Gfeller (UM's sophomore starting guard who did not score)," said Griz head coach Travis DeCuire. "For Brandon to just get two shots tonight, that was our fault. That wasn't what they did defensively. There were times when he was open and we just didn't find him. I think we need to be a little more patient offensively and grind some possessions out and find the right guys in the right situations. For us its always about who's going to be our third or fourth scorer and I just don't think Brandon had enough opportunities to be that guy tonight.

True. I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day of the week!
