Had to google the weird ass substitution rule that the NCAA uses. Doesn't look right to an old "footballer".

Well, shit. 1-0 final. Nice effort, LG. Had a few shots there in the second half, but they just didn't convert.

Griz behind by 1, and had an exceptional shot opportunity blocked.

Yeah, that was a shame. That was a goal but for a lucky foot stab by the defender. The tender was beat on that play.

Hell of an effort by the Griz. Very interested to see what this team looks like without Claire Howard in goal next year. Gonna be weird.

If there was ever a moral victory in a season ending post season loss, this is it. A great defensive showing against a great SEC team. I’m not as worried about losing Claire as some might be though. Yes her shutout numbers are amazing, and not taking anything away from her career, but she’s had a LOT of help from her defensive back line throughout the years. We’ve always had stellar defensive back play which has been part of our program staple the last several years.

Yep, Griz lose 3 All-BigSky players in Howard, Avery, and Lang (who was a redshirt junior) but will have 4 All-Big Sky returners in Hansen, Coyle, Stoeger, and Larsen. Actually, Caitlin Rogers has also been All-Big Sky in the past (co-Defensive MVP) and should be back and healthy, as well. Plus, Camellia Xu has looked like a pretty capable goal keeper in a few clips I've seen.

BTW, here's Windauer's opportunity set up by Stoeger's hustle:
