I doubt it will come up at the BBQ. They always announce that the coaches will answer questions but that never happens. You get the raw raw speach, doing it the right way and enjoy your pork. We'll see. Very discouraging news indeed.

This season is going to tell the tale.....one way or the other.

You can bet that I will ask Mick about this, the loss of Trent McKinney and Ben Worst. This is not the kind of news a fan likes to hear going into summer break. I just wonder who else is planning on vacating the team?

reinell30, I hope you will post the reply since I doubt it will be discussed in the public forum of the event. I hadn't even heard that McKinney left. Wow.

OK, here is what I learned. I talked with Scott Gragg before Mick D. I asked them both the same questions, just to see if I was getting the run around answer. They both told me, almost verbatim the exact answer.
1. What can you tell me about why certain players, who a lot of people thought would be starting this season, are leaving the team...ie...Trent McKinney, Jordan harper and Ben Worst.Well when you are managing a football team, you have to choose the best players, you set standards and rules for everyone to follow. You have drills and more drills and evaluations. Those that produce the best get the position and yes, scholarships when available. Those that do not produce as seen by the coaching staff are not offered the same benefits. Unfortunately, not all players make the grade, and yes some feelings are hurt, but we have to do what we believe is best for our football team.
Mick did state he is almost positive of TE transfer/dropdown coming. Although, they are both confident in the TE already there, and for some reason I can't remember his name, no it is not Mitch Saylor.

Company answer? Well to an extent. But for the most part, I agree 100% with this answer. Not everyone makes the team and or can be the number 1!

Thanks reinell. It is somewhat a company answer but not unexpected. And the point was made. Only the coaching staff know what they are looking for and what their expectations are. In addition, the situation is still fluid with others being added to the roster in the future that may help the team immensly. Time will tell.

It was a great time last night. Say what you will about Mick; he is certainly a motivator and full of energy.

No I don't. It was a single name and a woman's name. I'll let you know if I think of it.

Maybe?

He donates a lot of work to UM

There was one of Joyner's prints there as well. I have some of his and he does great work. This was a very large print of a grizzly running in the river as I remember.

Go to Tims site or Facebook and send him a question asking him who the artist is, I bet he would know. :thumb:

If the art wasn't Joyner it's probably Teshia. Here's her site, notice the big Griz painting, that it? http://teshiaart.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That's exactly who it was. Anyone know how much was raised? I didn't get out of there cheaply and I had a microbrew headache this morning. Both my head and my wallet hurt this morning.

I have't heard how much was raised.
Thanks again Brint, that is exactly the artist and I contacted her through the web site you provided.
I too had a microbrew headache and wallet pain!

Showing an athletic Harper the door is f...... stupid. I know...release a safety valve for your Q.B. that will be behind a young "O" line. The guy showed burst and the ability to get separation. He was also very "heady" around the red zone. His hands were rock solid also. Man, this Saylor must be a phenom ...huh? I hope MD didn't push in his chips on the "your mommy and daddy" can pony up the rest theory ? If the guy would've stayed for half vs a third purportedly offered...this is a "clown move"... :egriz: In summary, for you simpletons that don't understand how important this position has evolved in football, the last half decade...think Jimmy Graham...Gronk...Vernon D...Tony Gonzo...[/u]I personally thought of Harper as Dallas Clark like...

Were these the guys in New Edition with Bobby Brown?

Okay its TE, but be have what 20 recievers who concievably are fast have good hands etc etc. But that isn't the question. Does he have beef, can he block, is he smart enough to see and anticipate a defensve scheme or shift, is he shifty enough the guy across from him doesn't know what going on? Its a tough position and more involved than running plays

Well the news is out. Big loss for the Griz, will take years to recover from this.

Wayne Tinkle to OSU.... Best of luck coach! ;)

The same kid from Great Falls that signed in 2013 that went out and played like a stud in the summer all star games and then decided not to attend UM last fall? If so, that is a nice addition. I believe he had some lingering injury (foot?) and decided he couldn't play.
Tonight in GF Delaney made no mention of Harper but did Bo Harris and Hagfors. he said a home town player who left the program will return but couldn't say who

Home town player... As in Missoula home town? Spencer Hale or Jesse Ginn... Don't think Jesse is coming back, but who knows...

It would take an act of God to get Jesse Ginn back to school. During the last spring scrimmage he was very honest with me as to why he is no longer a GRIZ. It has nothing to do with legal issues, the team, or coaches. It was his personal decision. Sounds like he is comfortable with his decision too and doing well driving truck for the ND oil projects. I can tell he has no regrets and likes the freedom he regained. Cannot fault the kid, like him I realized not all people are cut out for college. He'll do just fine either way. :thumb:

Love this.. Good for Ginn.

 Holy Hell, I thought Worst was our Best kicker!!! what the hell happened   we do have a decent kicker right?

If Horner is returning that'll help ease my pain. I was really high on him coming out of high school. Definitely a top player in the state that year with a big ceiling.
