Griz Schedule

Just reignites my annoyance we scheduled a D2 school, nothing at all against Ferris State but this does nothing but potentially hurt us, win or lose.

Griz schedule - many (including me) think it is favorable.

But, can a 4 loss Griz team make the playoffs given the Ferris scheduling?

Would put them at 6-4 for selection, I believe.

I ask because these 4 games are key:

@Idaho
SAC

I will take 3 out of four. I definitely don't see us with much chance at all of losing to Davis or Idaho this year, but I have been wrong before.

Sac has proven to be a good regular season team, and the Brawl is just always unpredictable.

Griz should win all 4.

So what's the goal? You need two of the four, and the rest of the schedule, to make the playoff field. You likely need three and perhaps all four to get into the conversation for a high seed, which is the only thing that matters in terms of playoffs. Teams after the #8 seed are just distractions almost all of the time.

Beating Ferris by a wide margin would make everyone feel better about showing up in Flagstaff the weekend following and Davis and Idaho a little further down the road.

I guess that is my point - not well communicated.

So what you're saying is that it's the trip to Frisco that matters? I would agree and the only way to do that is to run the table. Another truism is that championship teams win games both at home and on the road, regardless of who is scheduled. Anything less, and there is a risk of having to show up in Brookings, Fargo, or another far-flung location that makes booking the trip to Frisco unlikely. Can we be done with all the hand-wringing over the schedule? If they show up ready to play each and every week, things will work themselves out, regardless of who's on the schedule.

The positive predictions for our season are expected. After all, that is what the fan base of every team expects, right? During all of those years (seems like an eternity ago) when we beat the Cats like a drum every season, I'm quite sure that Cat fans had high hopes before each season that things would be different. But then, there is reality, and not false hopes fueled by unrealistic expectations. The Big Sky coaches know more than any of you, and deal in reality, not high-hope expectations, and they think we are the sixth best team in the conference, even with one of the easiest conference schedules. They also think that the Cats are the best team in the conference. They must not be as smart as some of you, huh?
Finally, all one has to do is to talk to Griz fans from around the state, like I do. They are not down for the direction of Hauck's program. They've had enough of Bobby 2.0. The unbridled optimism shown by posters here is just that, unbridled optimism.

I love my Grizzlies as much as any of you, perhaps even more. But I also am not willing to endure failure, and that is what Bobby has delivered in his return. No other way to sugar-coat it, although many of you try.

I've noticed that, and good for CDA and good for you. I wasn't intending to label you as one of those really aggressive trolls. You can have a reasonable conversation, and you root for the Griz and not against them.

As for the rest, how I know what "most Griz fans thing" is because I live in Missoula and talk to them like a normal person? I don't really know how else to answer that. I grew up born into being a Griz fan, and growing up that way, you make plenty of friends who are also Griz fans, and it is a topic of conversation. I was texting a friend of mine just last night as he was re-watching a game from last year when he was bored. Neighbors on both sides of me have season tickets, and also are excited about the start of the season and optimistic.

While I obviously cannot talk to the majority of Griz fans, I think I have a big enough sample size in my life to have a finger on the pulse. Most Griz fans are not out saying the coaches suck, though I did hear dissatisfaction with the offense last year, of course. Everyone I have talked to about the upcoming season who follows them seriously seems to be cautiously optimistic, and most folks are just excited to have football games and tailgates back and are excited for the season.

People on here obsess over the team a bit, myself included obviously. But most people couldn't name more than one transfer and are just excited and optimistic for the season. Partly because we have seen the trend improving over the last five years. Partly because we are Montana. And Partly because FTC.

2) Its really cute that you pretend to have friends. If you had friends, you wouldn't spend so much time so angry on the internet. And its not just here, you rage everywhere you are a part of. Please go make some friends, and try not to have your last words be "Bobby sucks," because you're gonna give yourself a heart attack with all this hate.

I'm done wringing my hands about it. I just had it in my mind the schedule was REALLY favorable this year - and then reality hit me.

Thought about this some more, and I am leaning 8-3. I still have questions about the QB position, offense in general with the play-calling and execution, and the defense, which has questions at DL/CB.

I see jizzallies mis-quoting me again. I guess his obsession with the Bobcats while ignoring our 6th place coaches' prediction has effected his mind. I stated that I loved all three of those head coaches, as well as one you forgot (Dennehy)..... not just for a single season, but for their entire body of work. But as always, thanks for playing.

Doesn't matter what our record is going into the Griz/Cat game. We'll probably win enough to buy another home first-round playoff game, then re-trace our anemic road playoff record once again like last season. And, the Hauck apologists will look to next season with high expectations once again. Yawn.
