GRIZ/PSU game thread

Good news, great perimeter shooting so far. Breunig and Krslovic with a few nice passes. Krslovic had 3 assists from 3 consecutive possessions. Bad news turnovers are killing the GRIZ. Gregory is really out of it so far. I have a feeling the scoring will pick up a little in the 2nd half and turnovers are cut down a lot. Griz win a close one 74-70.

I hope you are right but UM is not playing their best and let PSU back into the game. PSU is a better offensive team than UM, stat wise, so, things are going to get interesting. Breunig seems to not be "on" tonight, and I agree with you about Gregory. He plays loose with the ball and his diving has cost him 2 fouls and the Griz 5 points...he gets angry at himself and for a moment will play out of control. If he can hit 3s then no problem....
 
Good start to the 2nd half for the Griz. Dunk by Krslovic, turnover by PSU. Dunk by Breunig off a nice pass from Dunn. Griz up 36-31 now.
 
42-33 now after a shot by Dunn, a fast break dunk for Breunig after a Griz steal and a put back by Breunig. Looking good so far! Timeout PSU with 16:39 to go.
 
The question now is can the Griz NOT let PSU back in the game. This is a pattern this year..get a lead, then ease off...

Yep. Breunig with 21 points 5 rebounds and Krslovic with 8 points 4 rebounds now. Nice to have some threats inside.

51-40 Griz up after a Krslovic bucket inside. Dunn has 3 fouls so Nwosu came in for a bit as he did in the first half. Wonder if maybe his back is getting better to the point he'll be able to play more minutes (if that was the reason he wasn't getting minutes earlier this year). Anyone know if that's the case or not?
 
17 point lead with 8:30 to go (57-40). Dunn with a couple free throws, Gregory with a jump shot and a layup at the shot clock buzzer from Breunig. He's got 23pts, 5 rebounds now. Krslovic has 8 points and 6 rebounds.


Gotta love 23 buckets on 18 assists for the Griz too.
 
One thing I really like about Travis and the staff, they usually always play a very good 2nd half. They also come out quick in the 2nd half.
 
Gregory with a 3, Griz up by 20 now. 24 buckets on 19 assists now. Another turnover by PSU (the Griz D is really frustrating them). 60-40 at the 8 minute break, outscoring them 28-9 this half.
 
Kryslovic and Dunn are fun to watch....the present is pretty good but the future at UM looks unbelievably good...

Very refreshing...something that rarely happened last year..
