Which one?
j.p. kanongata'a

Meanwhile Cam Warren was voted the unsung hero of the 2013 team and John Nguyen the biggest impact freshman - so fair to say much of Griz nation disagrees.

Also Peter Nguyen was a proven good player too. Yes, fumble issues, but he was a good player.
if that constitutes good, then j.p. was one of the best linebackers in school history. i guess i'm not as liberal of a grader as everyone else.

I mean yeah, what the hell does a whole football team know, right?

Running back and returner Peter Nguyen was named Montana’s 2012 Steve Carlson Award winner, given annually to the football team’s most valuable player.

The awards ceremony was held Sunday and Griz coach Mick Delaney dished out the hardware at the Doubletree Hotel.

Nguyen, a senior from Seattle, led the Grizzlies in rushing with 926 yards this season. He finished ranked sixth in career rush yards with 1,985 and all-purpose yards with 4,338.

How many other out of state schools have sent 4+ players to the team in the last 5 to 6 years?

Bellevue has also had 2 or 3 other players on the UM roster in the past 5 seasons. Also, had the almost transfer who came to UM, but never got eligible for the team. Can't recall his name. So, at a minimum, 7 kids on the roster in the past years. Possible 8, not including the kid who never got eligible. As Brint said, name any out-of-state school with 7 kids on the roster in the past 5 years. I assume there might be some in-state schools with that many on the roster in the past 5 years, but but don't know.

Once again, getgrizzy strikes out. Of course, I know that if I had said Bellevue was not a pipeline school, getgrizzy would probably have disagreed. I like how some posters like to disagree with my posts, even when the posts are clearly correct--and then the poster comes across looking like an idiot.

I'm sorry but if Peter Nguyen isn't considered "good" to you...you know what nvm I'll just say it simply...you're an idiot.

There was a safety with the last name Connors, also the Nguyen's middle brother was on the team for a while. I think the transfer that didn't pan out was a cornerback, wasn't he?

And we've offered a kid out of their current class already as well.

thats a pipeline? only one is a proven good player and he's gone.

Warren gets hurt at the start of the 2nd quarter against CCU and suddenly we can't convert 3rd and 4th downs. Van Ackeran is named special teams player of the year and John Nguyen is a dynamic rookie who rushes for 400-500 yrds on the season. These are not good players? Wow, your standards might be a tad high.

An element to also consider is the publicity. Root Sports NW airs Big Sky Football and Root's offices are where? Bellevue. And Root also airs high school championship games, which at the 3A level, almost always include Bellevue High School. There are lots of potential Big Sky players in the area, not just those who play for Bellevue; so the publicity certainly doesn't hurt UM's recruiting efforts in the area. EWU gets more players from the Seattle metro area, but UM having Bellevue kids (not to mention Kistler and Lisoski (sp?) from O'Dea High School) on the roster is a definite plus.

I don't know why any of you even bother replying to getbobkitty. Just put him on Ignore and forget about him.

It's probably a long shot, but I'd love to see the Griz sign Morgan Richey, OL from Bellevue. He's 6'5" and 280. The only thing I've heard about Budda Baker comes from office water cooler gossip, but the current consensus is that it's between UCLA and UW, with USC in the picture now that Sarkesian has taken over as head coach.

Edit: Bellevue's recent 3A championship was the 6th in a row. Their current winning streak stands at 53, I believe.

I predict Oregon.
No, Huskies will land him.

Yes, Nguyen's 3d brother. That makes 8 for sure in the last 5 years. Yes, I think you're right on the transfer that didn't get eligible.

Don't forget about Cole Landes from Bellevue who joined that team as a preferred walk-on

If Montana keeps signing former Bellevue players, Montana will continue to reinforce a championship attitude in its football program. The players from Bellevue bring championships attitudes and championship work ethics to the University of Montana's football program.

Related opinion: Division I-AA will only get Bellevue's former "Blue Chip" players when they transfer from D-I FBS programs or when they're ignored by the Division I-A programs, PAC-12, Mountain West Conference and the independents.

That makes 9 Bellevue kids on the UM roster and in uniform in the past 5 years. Thanks for the info.

Ken Jones gets it. Great avatar too.

Yeah, son of UM grad John Connors (former CIO and CFO of Microsoft), grandson of Montana Coaches Association Hall of Famer Dan Connors from Miles City.

Bellevue is the biggest UM pipeline in recent years. Note that getgrizzy became very absent very soon. What an idiot.

Probably should add Ari Morales who planned to walk on here after a horrible knee injury last year. Went the Jc route instead hoping to get a big time offer like he deserved before the injury. Would he great to get him back at UM.
