As someone mentioned before on a previous thread, I’m having trouble getting my head around Coastal Carolina being ranked #6. Yes, they are undefeated … but then they should be. The combined records of their opponents is 27-38 (a 41.5% winning percentage). In fact, only two of their opponents have winning records, and none of their opponents have been ranked at any time this year.

Among the top-15 teams, only Fordham and Sam Houston State have lower Strengths of Schedule. Fordham beat a very bad FBS (Temple) as well as two ranked teams. SHSU played Texas A&M and split with two ranked teams.

Not saying Coastal does not deserve to be ranked ... but #6?

I'm pretty sure Maine would absolutely bus roll Coastal, Eastern Illinois, Montana State, Fordham and McNeese...yet all those teams are ranked above them. Unfortunately (much like the BSC), Maine doesn't get a chance to prove it on the field in the regular season against Towson this year.

That sounds about right. I thought there were some predictions of us going way down but that didn't make a whole lot of sense to me considering we lost to #3 by a score. That game was a heartbreaker but I am glad we came back and there were some amazing catches late in the game I will remember for a long time. Northern Arizona was the only real disappointment to watch this year. There were some good things at least in all the others.
