Griz on TV outside of Montana

Does anyone know consistently what Channel/Network you can see the griz on TV outside of Montana. I live in Oregon and it is always a challenge to find the Griz on TV. I have seen locations on other post that show the games but would like to know the Network so that I can call locations ahead of time when in a small town to find out if they have the channel.

Who is carrying the Griz game is NOT the same from week to week. Sometimes it's Max Media and sometimes it's Root-NW. And sometimes it's more complicated than that, like last Saturday, when Max Media was supposed to carry it but the game was bumped by MLB, so Max Media sold it to Root. We watched it in Boise on Dish Network on an alternate Root channel, i.e. 450 (as opposed to the usual 426). And, I'm not any help for this-coming Saturday, as it's a home game and I will be at WaGriz, so haven't bothered to find out where the game is on TV.

Just checked the Griz web site, and this weekend's game is on Max Media, which, I believe, is shown only in Montana.

Root Sports, channel 688-1 (during the UCDavis game) was advertising that they were broadcasting the Griz/Cal Poly game AND the Griz/EWU game....I sure hope so, because that's what I'm planning for!

Edit: And in looking at the DirecTV lineup, it appears I can get the MSU/Weber game on about 30 different channels, but no Griz/Cal Poly. WAFJ.

FYI, this week's game is listed for Bigskytv. I don't mind it at all. It is great when I run a HDMI cable from the computer to HDTV. It works great.

I'm in Oregon as well.

We've caught a few games on Root locally (we have Wave broadband cable.. small town option)
the rest of the games we've either gotten via BigSkyTv (paid the $$ for the monthly fee.. big whoop) or AmericaOneSports.com (free)

We stream and hookup to TV via HDMI.. it can be a bit grainy, but overall, it's better than nothing.

AmericanOneSports.com schedule show's that they'll be broadcasting/streaming the game on 10/19.. I guess that's the way we'll roll this week!

Best of luck!

Find someone with an FTA satellite system and you can watch it in all its HD glory! There should be a pub near you with such a system. They will need to do a "blind scan" on satellite AMC16 about 30 minutes prior to game time to find it.

And if you are so inclined, in the future you could acquire an FTA system for about $250 and set it up yourself so you can get the games. You need an unobstructed view of the SE sky, have a place to mount an 18 inch dish, and have a little mechanical and electronics aptitude to set it up. Or if you are in the Portland Oregon area and need help, a few beers over a few hours might convince me to help...

Thanks for all the posts. So from what I gather for this weekend because its not being shown on Roots the only way to watch the game is with and FTA system or streaming online. I guess that means that all the bars around the country outside of Montana that griz fans go too use the FTA system?

I know that several do because I have helped them over the phone to get their systems working. I also know that someone posted here that one pub connected an internet streaming signal (I don't know the source) to a big screen and watched it that way.

Thanks Grisly Fan, I do live in Portland and might be taking you up on beers for help with installing an FTA system. I am in Seaside, Or this weekend so it will have to wait. Was hoping for an alternate option. I have been steaming griz games online for last 4 years and it has several down sides to TV other than just picture quality. I will call the pubs around Seaside and see who has an FTA system. Thanks again.

Yes. For games not on Root, bars get the game via a FTA satellite system
