Griz: "Not the most athletic bunch..."

Thats interesting. My first thought watching Furman was that Huff was rather slow for a "dual threat" QB. Hes a smart runner, but not the most athletic. I guess we'll find out tonight

They weren't the most athletic looking against a 1-9 Wofford. I do realize he didn't play, but against Chatty he wasn't spectacular. Not a smart move. Too late! He poked the bear! Go Griz!

I must have missed it, but I scoured the Buck Buchanan Award list and didn't see a single guy from Furman on that list, and only one guy from the vaunted SoCon...

Not a Tommy by any stretch, if Tommy can't turn the corner, against our feet in concrete defense, what are his chances?

I feel like this is the equivalent of teams flapping their arms up at the north end zone like Weber State did a couple years ago 😂

It usually doesn't work out too well for them.

Whoever is going to the game needs to make signs with this on it. Just like Limu-Jones remark a couple years ago. I sure hope this one ages as well as that one did.

Are you sure he wasn't referring to eGriz?

I don’t know about you, but my 40 is probably a blazing fast sub 7 seconds and my tendons and ligaments make sounds you’ve never heard before. How’s that for athletic!

Unconscionable that he would make that statement after most likely having the tape from the Delaware and Brawl games.

I almost wonder if he is hoping he can bait them in to coming after him on the RPO run fake with this statement so they can take some shots. He clearly was looking at what he perceived poor athleticism as opposed to their discipline and technique. My guess is he’s also hoping that he can get some personal fouls.

Now I’m just hoping he ends up with a hot that he’ll remember forever. Looking at their games, I didn’t find their teams overly athletic. He’s a poor man’s Gevani. Roberto is good, but if you stop their run and make them one dimensional and behind the chains, I believe we could feast. I’m thinking jet lag will hit about 7 pm tonight for them.

QB's, in this stadium, have a habit of throwing in the towel after taking a few of those "shots". McKay, Barierre, etc.

Hell, McKay threw in the kitchen sink.

He went and made it personal. Typically coaches caution their players NOT to do that

If you watched and listened to him when Furman had their early week presser, I would describe him as bored. He was staring off into space while the others were answering or when questions were being asked. He's a grad student and a military reservist. He knows exactly what he's doing. Just started the poop early. Good luck to him.

I'll take the over on this one getting to seventeen pages by noon.
The “bored “ guy is actually our starting strong safety who shares the same number as Huff. Don’t think his comments are going to make a bit of difference once the game starts.

More often than not opposing qbs' have not fared to well in missoula.

I do remember Dunnigan from Sacramento state having a pretty good game against the griz I think it was in 2021, he threw for a few touchdowns in a win, but yeah it doesn't happen alot.

The military instills a "respect, but don't fear your enemy" mentality. Huff must have missed that meeting during his military training.
