GRIZ/NAU

I'll give the Griz mens team credit where it is due - they've turned themselves into a much better team than I, or seemingly many on this board, expected. I don't think Coach Tinkle is half the dumb @$$ that a lot of fans thinks he is. Griz are playing great defense right now and will definitely have an advantage in the post and with overall team depth tonight. That being said, I still think you're a bit too reliant on Anthony Johnson to supply the bulk of team points.

NAU dug itself a huge hole and will need four straight perfect games and some help elsewhere in the Big Sky conference to have a chance at a playoff spot. Common sense says no but you never know in college basketball. The Lumberjacks played like rabid, cornered beasts on Thursday night vs. MSU. I wouldn't be suprised to see it happen again tonight. Regardless of the talent level that is present, I have not seen an Adras coached Lumberjacks team quit.

I hope the Arizona based ex-patriate Montanans enjoy the game in Flagstaff. When I lived there and went to school I always enjoyed visiting with their fans and talking "Montana". Phoenix and Tucson have large numbers of Montanans so the Griz and Cats always have good support for sporting events. Wish I was in Flagstaff tonight. Hell, wish I could even drive across the pass to the women's game in Missoula but time, obligations, money and weather get in the way of fun. Grab some grub and brew at Beaver Street Brewing or Flagstaff Brewery after the game.

Crowd won't be that great but the vocal minority of fans will make some noise and be into the game. Flagstaff/NAU is a different world sports-wise than UM and MSU in Montana. Cats and Griz are the only show in town up here. That's not the case in AZ. I always wished that the students/community would give better support but it's never been the case. Too many students who grow up die-hard Suns/Cardinals/UA/ASU/So-Cal team fans and therefore prefer to sit in the dorms and watch them instead of supporting their school.

What's with the nearly non-existent coverage of Cat-Griz basketball (hell, college basketball in general) here in Montana. The only games given any thought by the media are the in-state rivalry games. Football truly must be "god" here. High school basketball gets great support from what I've seen. Even NAU and their lackluster support get a bit of love on occasion from FoxSports Arizona.

Here's to a well played, enjoyable game tonight. Bigskytv.org better not crap out.

Thank you for the link and info. This is sweet, getting to watch the GRIZ in HD!!!!! No bitching about Bigskytv for this one.

It pains me when I see a BSC game in basketball or football anywhere but UM, MSU, or WSU. What a sorry turnout. Do they have fans? Can we please move out of this conference or get other programs to support their teams?

Damnit, they are up 11-10 at the 11:30 mark. 6 minutes without a point. GET THE BALL INSIDE!!!!

As I type they do it, now QVALE better hit the FT's.

Just got on...BSTV looks great and the Griz are up nice! I was worried about this one.
