Griz Nation BBall video

They ran the "This is Griz Nation" video for the basketball team sometime in the 4th quarter of the football game, it was the 1st time I've seen it, not bad!
 
I heard somebody talking about it, sounds like the same thing as the football team only with basketball correct? Same music? details.
 
Same music, different theme though, a lot of screen shots with the player and all of the background really dark or shaded, kind of like the spot light is shining on him in a dark room. Slam dunks, some crowd shots, some action shots, all-in-all it was cool.
 
I talked with the guys that make these videos after the game on Saturday. Great guys. They said the basketball videos were much tougher to create due to the "Crowd Effect" that doesn't exist at bball games. They had to pretty much eliminate the empty stands and focus on the players. They also said that once you hear the real soundtrack, it is Bad Ass. The music is more of the hip hop style and has great beats for the bouncing of the balls, etc.

Can't wait to see the final version!
 
It looked good, but I did notice that whenever they showed actual game footage, there were a lot of empty seats in the background. Hopefully that will turn around this year.

Yeah I looked for that, not a lot of crowd shots. They'd be smart to probably show up for the Turn Back the Clock night to get some better crowd shots.
 
The seats were empty because the filmed last year during a Christmas break game. There were no students around. Too bad they couldn't have filed during a conference game when students were around.

They filmed during a game against northern colorado.

They can't release the video, because of university policy. does that blow anyone else's mind? It's a commercial, and they don't want to get it out there, for free.

That's very odd considering the U released the Griz Nation football videos over the net last year. If I'm not mistaken they were listed under the univeristy realtions web link. Has anybody checked there for the hoops video???
 
I would bet that it will be on the website shortly. They probably want to make soem sort fo an official debut of it and maybe show it on TV a few times. I think that is what they did with the football video.
 
We'll see. I'm trying to go another route. I really want to get this up. I do not like the marketing depts tactics at all. They may be right and I may be wrong but i just don't like them. By them i mean the tactics, not the people, everyone in the marketing dept is great.
 
Oddly enough I was looking for the Griz Nation football commercial on the university site earlier this morning. I couldn't find it under the old locations. Does anyone have a link to where they are currently housed?
