Griz land transfer UCLA DB

Niiiiiice.

2-star (247) out of high school, but unfortunately never saw any playing time at UCLA.

Glad we got some depth for our secondary.
 
Good depth piece for the CB room (I presume he's a corner and not a safety). He definitely won't be a starter but could play on special teams and maybe find his way into the rotation and 2 deep at CB. Good pickup! Hopefully this calms the waters a little bit!

Got his degree there, hasn't played yet. Was a 2 star coming out of high school. 6'1", 190. Has 2 years left to play.

Two deep? We've got three converted safeties right now in that room...if he's a true CB I'm guessing he moves up the rotation pretty quickly.

Two deep? We've got three converted safeties right now in that room...if he's a true CB I'm guessing he moves up the rotation pretty quickly.

I don't say this to be argumentative, but there is a trend recently with nickle corners and safeties being the same player. CJGJ in the NFL was a good example of moving between the positions, and led the NFL in interceptions next year. In our 3-3-5, that versatility is huge.

This guy was listed at CB in high school and at UCLA, so I'm sure he will be more of a coverage player.

He had a 1K yards receiving and 18 TD's his senior year. So maybe a Calhoun-like situation?

Good. It's what we need. No offense to the guys who've moved over (Klucewich and a couple others), but we are lacking in TRUE corners, IMHO.

Unfortunately, there are practice videos of him at safety
Hence, his listing of DB. I'm guessing, he'll help at CB, we're deep at safety.

Well being deep at safety does no good if we’re shallow at CB…this defense was sketchy enough with terrific corners.
