No, you're right, Raider--look at year when we were literally overrated in the preseason coaches and media polls.

Call me a wide-eyed optimist--I think this year with the maturation of many of our high-school kids augmented by some really talented transfers is going to be different--I know it's only April, but this season feels a little different to me. Either it's indigestion and gas or somethings a little different and improved about this '25 team and I'm thinking it's the latter.

Agreed. If the game were played on paper, we'd worry about getting paper cuts. Remember, the scats are perennial pre-season national champs. Its still three months and three days til Fall Camp. Chill, enjoy the summer, THEN get jacked. If there were only a way to hibernate from September through the NC game January 7, then see WHAT HAPPENED. My ulcers, and heart, can't take the drama.

We did, and I hear that too. However, let's be honest about that big picture here. The Griz got hot and went on a fantastic playoff run in 2023. Net of that, it's been a VERY mediocre 12+years. That's just the reality of where the program is, and last year was a smack in the nutsack back to reality. Pretty hard to go back and get overly excited in the off season again. Just my opinion.

It all boils down to coaching. If these kids come together and get the right coaching, they are certainly capable of making a deep playoff run. Defense is where I get a bit antsy.

I wouldn't hate that, largely just because we have such an unproven group. There are some areas like Offensive Line that I just will always say "we could use one more great guy," but at this point I'm sure there aren't a ton of diamonds out there in the portal for that.

Weren’t we just in Frisco in 2024? That’s not a long time.

I wouldn't hate that, largely just because we have such an unproven group. There are some areas like Offensive Line that I just will always say "we could use one more great guy," but at this point I'm sure there aren't a ton of diamonds out there in the portal for that.

I still would not hate it if there was one more on each line, and a CB1. Truth is I'd be OK if just about anything fantastic rolled in. Something like the BYU safety or USC OLB/DE. High level guys that didn't pan out or were injured so got lost in the depth chart.
