Also, I don't like to rag the officials too much, but Coleman was fouled in the second half while shooting, bucket goes in, and the officials wave it off. This makes no sense, if it was a shooting foul then the basket should have counted, not waved off, and I know we weren't in the bonus at that point. That was really the only WTF moment by the officials tonight.

The shot was not allowed because of basket interference by Deshields. I was pissed at 1st. The replay showed it, and the officials made the right call. Tinkle was pissed off too, but not at the officials. He was livid at Deshields. I am sure Keron got a little butt chewing and a lot of ribbing after that one.

Man Colman looked like the player we all expected, then some in the 2nd half. He was a total stud. He and Jamar have very good chemistry on the court.

+1 on Coleman. He's really made some great strides this year and is finally looking comfortable in his role these last few games. I would like to see him starting but he is also a great 6th man and may actually be better in that role. I don't see him starting this Saturday mainly because of the matchup with Tresnak. I think out of Weber's first 10 points Tresnak will have 6 to 8 of them. I think Tresnak is going to get his points so it's going to be important to try and limit what Berry and Bamforth do. Oh, and hope they miss their FTs.

Colman won't start being he is so good at his role now. Also, many coaches like having very versatile players coming off the bench as 6th men. Spencer is about as versatile as it gets. He scores inside, outside, and crashing. Defensively the guy guards the perimeter great, rebounds good , and is can guard any position in switches. His game is perfect for the 6th man, as is Deshields for his energy.

Yes, somebody said this earlier, that Art and AJ both JC guys took some time to find their spots on the team..and both were impact guys....I know wayne knows more than i do, but i just dont get why hutch is being played as often as he does....he has little effect on the defensive end...and ZERO on the offensive end...we are by far at our best when we run the court and push the issue esp after our opponent misses baskets....spencer is anohter good sized body that can run the floor...hutch is...well i dont know what he is

Virgil Matthews was another JC guy that came on strong after awhile. Kamar Davis was a very good jc find for us.

The best JCer we got over the last decade was Anthony Johnson though. Loved to watch that guy take over a game on offense. His defense was pretty good too.

so buddy, how u feel about weebs losing? u think its that big of a deal for our seeding if indeed we win out or drop the game in ogden? I am happy knowing as long as we win every game we have the little cushion that the game in the DEE isnt a MUST win...but weebs losing is def a reminder that u cant get complacent..i also think the beat down we gave ISU shows us griz fans that our boys wont get complacent!

I honestly did not see weebs losing. Were they looking ahead to Saturday and got complacent? thats a good question. But I dont think it changes the game down there, its still a must win.

Define must win? I am not saying i dont care if we go down there and lose. I am just comparing it to last year, where we lost at the DEE and took care of every other game....and much like weebs losing to the cats this year they lost to ISU last year. With them losing we have the inside track to hosting the tourney win or lose at weber (as long as we focus and take care of bisnuess like we should). A win tomorrow would be MASSIVE. A two game lead over weber would be absolutly huge, esp in a conf where we will a big fav to win every game from here on out except the game in ogden. The road to hosting another BSC tourney is right in front of us!

Seriously, for the sake of seeding in the NCAA tourney, was hoping the only losses weber and the GRIZ would have in conference would only be to one another. Plus I did not want to see a more motivated Weber State coming into Dahlberg. I like that we have a game cushion now, but now have a really bad feeling about the game Saturday. I had a bad feeling about the UNC game, but expected us to win that one still.

Here is to hoping the officials let the players decide the game, and we can keep their post game somewhat under control. We will be bringing their bigs away from the basket with a lot of Ward and Colman on the perimeter. It will be interesting to see if their bigs can defend the perimeter. I am confident our perimeter defenders will do a good job keeping their perimeter players under control.

I'm glad MSU planted a seed of doubt in Weber State. Time for the Griz to put together two solid halves and take control of this thing.

Agreed, except that in that situation, UM would likely lose out on the final tie-break scenario (RPI) and would have had to travel to the Dee for the tournament. So I think the Weeb loss is a good thing. It's also good that it was to the cats who, if they continue to play like they are, will probably finish high in the league.

The Cats are looking way better than they did 2 weeks ago. The sleeper I like is UNC. They played a great game against the GRIZ and have a few great athletes and deadly shooters.

UNC always seems to be pretty solid, and that roadtrip combined with that gym make it a tough place to play. I'm very happy to have that one out of the way.

The home court advantage did not exist, thanks to the Broncos playoff game. That played out perfect for the GRIZ. Usually the GRIZ/UNC game is pretty fun there. It was a great game to watch, but no fan atmosphere whatsoever that game.

Yep. That was a nice break for us, and I'm more than happy to take it, because God knows we're owed a few things to go our way from that building.... :o

NAU is owed more. They got screwed much worse than we did during that tournament.

Good point.

But the Griz would have beaten NAU in the title game, so really when you think about it, they only missed out on an a nationally televised beat-down. ;)
