Hey all, I just got done making the Griz on the teambuilder website http://www.easportsworld.com/en_US/ncaafootball/create_a_school#/school/2256319863:1247690090
It took quite a while to do, but I think that those of you who do download it will be pleased. I tried to go with the greatest Grizzlies of all time (let the debate begin).
A few things about my creation...
I know I don't have Dickinson on the roster, thats because EA won't let you have dick anywhere in a name. But I have sent an email to them, so who knows. But I do feel my QB selection will still satisfy the Montana purists.
The home and away jerseys are almost perfect, minus the ncaa and nike badging (tried to do it by editing Ole Miss' jerseys but it wouldn't let me change the colors) and as for the neckline, I couldn't get a v-neck with one continuous stripe in the middle, so I went as close as I could and had to add the neck graphic (sorry perfectionists, I had no choice really).
The Alternate Jerseys
I went with the classic colors, but because EA wouldn't let me have more than two logos for my team it would have been impossible to create the exact old school jerseys without sacrificing the authenticity of the current jerseys and field layout (I have the two main logos right now, but would have loved to have been able to use the old UM, the yellow GRIZ, and the current bearpaw 3rd logo). So with that being said, I decided to apply the colors of the past to a few designs from the future. I personally think the fusion of old and new came out kind of nicely, but thats up to you.
Monte- They would not let me create my own mascot, and I like to party so of course I'm going to have a mascot, so I selected an existing mascot. I went with the WV Moutaineer (sp?) because he has no school badging and he feels very wildery. I like to call him MontanaMan (insert monster truck voice), but thats just me. But seriously how is the two time National Mascot of the Year not an available option?
I'm up for taking roster and ratings suggestions because I know mine are not perfect, but I wasn't satisfied with the choices that were out there and I feel this is an adequate alternative to the mediocrity.
Should I keep Hauck as coach or should I put in everybody's favorite Ole's spokesperson, Joe Glenn?
If your having trouble finding my school, just go to the Teambuilder section of the EA Sports NCAA Football 10 website and look for keyword Montana and the author should be BigWalt206. I'm interested to see what ya'll think.
Oh and just in case you were concerned, yes, I am well aware that I am a huge nerd.
