Griz in Greeley 2012

I went to look at when the tickets for the Griz game in Greeley, CO went on sale this year and this is what the Bears ticket website shows:

N.Colorado Football vs. Montana St.

Nottingham Field 2012

Saturday, 10/6/12 1:35PM MDT

On Sale on 08/17/12

12:00AM MDT

Of course this is a direct shot in the face to avid Griz fans as they (UNC) know damn well that the team they never have beaten is coming back to rub cock in their eye once again. Assuming they figure out it's the Griz and change it, it looks like tickets go on sale in mid August, quite a bit later than in years past, which I suspect is a ploy to sell more "packages" and to give appathetic Bears fans a chance at good seats while the idea of football is in their minds. Appearantly they can't think that far ahead. After all, the average Greeleian (wtf?) is busy selling the family farm this summer for fear of Obamacare ruining the country, and has no time to go online and buy tickets for their beloved Bears.

I for one will be buying tickets as usual come mid-August, as me and my Montana brothren will once again annoy countless numbers on fat UNC girls nursing their hangovers in the stands. GO GRIZ!

For those of you wanting to buy tickets in August:

It could be wishfull thinking on NoColo's part. After all what team would just as soon play the kittens twice versus having to play the Griz once.

I wouldn't worry about picking tickets for Griz in Greeley. There is always ample supply at the gate on game day.

A name is just a name, an ass kicking feels just the same no matter what you call it. We're looking forward to going to see the Griz play again.

Do any GRIZ fans stay over night in GREELEY? I live in Aurora, but would like to party with some GRIZ fans, after the game. Where do many GRIZ fans stay for this game? Anyone mind to tell me, what events are planned this weekend for GRIZ fans?

Normally, I just go to the game, and come home. This year, I want to hang with other GRIZ fans.

The wife and I stay in Thornton. There's a nice hotel there and a great sports bar down the street going west across the freeway. Don't think there's ever been an 'official' meeting place.

Last time we went we stayed right in Greely Saturday night because we didn't want to chance driving after the game. Seems like there are were kinds of bars and restaurants in a nearby shopping center. I know there is an "Old Chicago" pizza/pub that was pretty good. I'll see if I can locate it again.

We stay at my buddy JT's place in Severence, just north of Greeley. There's a place called Bruce's that serves balls and whiskey. The locals love it...dem boys can't get enough balls. I imagine it'll be the same this year...5 Griz fans getting wasted yelling about how great the Griz are to a few locals who could care less. We go there because it is within walking distance of JT's place. Good times.

Bruce's Bar!! Hilarious!! Even though I'm a Weber State guy, there is a good chance I will be in CO that weekend. If so, I'll hit up Bruce's and chill with the Grizz fans that show up. I hit up Bruce's in May when I went out to CO to catch a weekend of excellent baseball. Loved watching the Braves beat up on the Rockies. At Bruce's be sure to get yourselves some of their world famous Rocky Mountain Oysters.
