We don't want that dumbass at UM.
This is not how marketing works anyway. It's about the image and increasing top of mind awareness in this case. Will somebody change their mind over an MSU spot on TV? If they are that flighty - MSU doesn't want them either. But you build that brand and image and that may be enough to draw a campus visit, a phone inquiry, a visit to MSU's website, etc... If MSU can successfully build the image that they are the leader, progressive, and whatever else it takes to increase enrollment, then inquiries increase. It is the school's job to turn those inquiries into students.

UM has the same opportunity to do the same thing. It is a great university with a lot to offer and I hate seeing it go through a perceived hard time. I would rather see enrollment increase at both schools either with a higher percentage of high school students going to school or drawing students from regional states.

I know, I was just being a dumbass.

But I do not buy the notion that advertising and marketing are responsible for enrollment trends, or that they play a major role. I think it's more a matter of, "Do I want to be an engineer or do I want to go to business school?" "Do I want to be a teacher or a nurse?"

Could UM do a better job of selling itself to the best and brightest kids in Montana? Of course. But let's not go overboard.

UM couldn't market/sell water to a dehydrated person in the desert...

I've stated my own anger on this issue previously. And everytime, without fail, I see I my mother (she knows we both like to talk Griz football) she says, "It makes me SO MAD when I see all those msu commercials during the Griz games!!!" "Where are the UM commercials?"

UM ignorance is PISSING OFF its fans/contributors, big-time.

I saw just as many UM commercials during the game as MSU ones. Weird that they were still showing MSU ones though, but MSU is smart in knowing more watch Griz games anyway. ;)

I see that. You know what I haven't seen?
A MSU semifinal game?
Oops! This whole tree falls in the forest is there a noise thing with the lack of video evidence of our 1984 NC actually makes me chuckle. There have been some quality posts on this board with that crap. However...for whatever reason there's plenty of video of our semifinal game. Sorry jodcon. You failed.

Just looking at the screenshot it appears that a giant dark cloud of doom is swooping down onto the Bobcats. I'll let others editorialize...

You're actually looking at RI guys right there. For the Cats, it was nothing short of divine intervention that won that game. At the 5:00 mark left in the 4th, RI would have/should have won that game 999 times out of 1000.

I thought I hit pay dirt. Alas, it was just the ever popular 1984 Michigan Amateur Hockey Association Bantam AA State Championship game.

That game was a classic to be sure. Great find.

I'm pretty sure I have you on record in a previous post that we at least played in the '84 NC by admitting we beat RI in the semi. Baby steps. We'll get there.

First, that game was, perhaps, one of the most important MAHA AA State Championships of yesteryear. Poorgriz's great-grandma told me that Bob "Buttplug-the-Bovine" Bilford had a hat trick in that game. Or was it after . . .

Second, while I like what you're doing here, and I respect you, I do not believe I have ever conceded that the Cats WON the semifinal game. I lack sufficient facts and information to allow me to admit or deny those allegations, and, on those grounds, deny the same.

Why is the above evidence of the alleged semifinal game so readily available, when ANY visual evidence of ANY MSU NC is so elusive? Is ABQ near Roswell?

Hmmm. Tough stuff here. The following video was all I can come up with. I'm the guy in blue underwear at the 2:18 mark.

I feel like that might not be 1984. I also feel depressed at looking at it compared to another (first and famous) undie run.
